I know that this is a little late but between work and graduate school, I'm just glad to get this finished
1. Reception Venue- C+
We held our reception at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino and as an employee, I knew that I was going to get the best service. Boy was I wrong. From the start of the planning process to the end of the night we had problems. Our event coordinator was changed and we never recieved any notification of the change until I called to find out why my emails went unanswered. When we finally got our new event coordinator, there were no sparks.She was cold and didn't really get the vision that I was looking for. She neglected to tell me that some of their items we were going to use for our reception were going to go out of stock two months before our wedding. There were many added charges and no explanation for them. She didn't seem very involved for our wedding and it made me upset as an employee. I thought I would get great service and we didn't, what is going on with our customers? The day of our wedding, we went to set up the room and nothing that we requested was set up after we were told that it would be set up when we arrived. The only reason I'm giving Prairie Meadows a C+ is that the food was delicious and the actual event went smoothly with our servers. I would not recommend working with Prairie Meadows for your wedding reception. Corporate events maybe but not something as personal and special as your wedding venue.
2. DJ- A++++
We hired Select Entertainment as our DJ and we couldn't be happier!! We were fortunate enough to work with Andy Powell and he did such an amazing and outstanding job. We both come from non-dancing families and he kept people out on the floor the entire night. He just got us and was amazing to work with. Select Entertainment was so easy to work with and I would recommend them in a heart beat.
3. Photographer- A+++
We hired Kesling Photography. She has been my family's photographer for years. Kelly and her husband Cody were amazing to work with and have such an awesome eye for beautiful photography. Great work and such lovely photography. We haven't seen our proofs yet but from our engagement session and her history, we know that they are going to be perfect.
