WE MADE IT! IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY! 

Late today, H and I are going to a rally for Cory Booker for Senate. I've never been to a political rally and I really like Booker, so I'm excited! 

We're thinking of going to the movies tonight to see Prisoners but if we don't feel up to it then we'll definitely go see it tomorrow night. 

This weekend is going to be pretty low-key which is a nice change of pace. We don't have much planned and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in!

This week has seriously dragged, but alas, mine isn't over. I have to get up at 0430 for clinical tomorrow. Otherwise, just studying and getting ready for a couple more exams/evaluations over the next week. The next week and a half or so isn't going to be the best...

This week has been long and seriously a buzz kill. I'm glad it's over.

On a good note, we got our first batch of RSVPs in the mail yesterday which was exciting! Only one decline and we already knew that this relative had other plans so no biggie. I was just excited to know that people are sending them in lol.

Tonight FI and I are going on a much needed date/ early bday celebration. Tomorrow we have to speed clean the apartment b/c it's gross and FI has a tennis match. After that we are going to a church event and then having dinner with FI's cousins and Aunt and Uncle. His cousin is giving us her leftover bubbles from her friend's wedding so those will be our send off! Yay!

Sunday we have church in the morning and after that we will be going to my family's house for my early bday dinner since my bday is next Wednesday.

Ugh, it really is Friday? Excellent.

Tonight BF and I have gaming, which in practice means I'm going to knit and watch "Monk." It's being pulled off Netflix Instant viewing, so might as well watch what I can while it's up. Don't know how late I'll be able to stay at gaming, either - BF gave me his cold/whatever it was he had, his "slight throat tickle" has become my sore throat two of the last three weeks.

Tomorrow BF has gaming in the evening, so we'll watch "Gosford Park" in the morning (never seen it, really looking forward to it) and perhaps "Gunslinger Girl." More knitting, maybe some cleaning.

Sunday is football day, so I'll be watching starting at noon. I'm already down one game in picks this week - my mom was the only one who picked the Chiefs. On the plus side, my fantasy opponent this week started Dwayne Bowe, who had one catch for a staggering 4 yards and 0 fantasy points. I was already gonna beat him by 20 points this weekend, now it's like kicking a puppy.

Tonight BF comes up (finally it's been a week since I've seen him!) and we're going to laser tag with my fraternity. Afterward, my roommate is hosting a party at our place beginning at 10 so super late night for me. In the morning, headed with BF and best friend to the Big E. No clue on plans for Sunday. Maybe a walk in the park or something depending on weather. 

This week dragged! I'm so glad it's almost over. Working until 4:30/5 today.

Thank GOD it's Friday - I couldn't handle another day this week!

I finally get to see my parents, best friend, and cousins for the first time since we got engaged, so I'm super excited for that - my mom planned a nice little dinner at home for all of us

Saturday FI, my parents, and I are going to see Evita and then out to dinner at a super yummy Italian tapas place - I can't wait, it should be a lot of fun.  Hoping that Sunday can be a wonderfully lazy day again... crossing my fingers on that one!

@swazzle have fun at the rally! My ex-bf worked on Hillary Clinton's senate campaign way back in the day as an intern so he knows all the democratic movers and shakers in his area. We went to a Kerry/Edwards political rally in Scranton, PA and it was amazing! It was something I'll never forget. We were able to get tickets to get up close and the rally was huge! The whole city was shut down for the day and it was such a positive experience to meet with people who had the same values and ideas as you do.

@southernpeach89 I can't believe your wedding is coming up! The time has moved by way too fast!!!

This weekend, BF and I are going to my parent's house for the weekend. I get to meet my new fur-brother, Bart, a golden retriever puppy. I'll AW pictures on Monday. We were going to go out to dinner for BF's birthday, but he wants to just stay home since we don't know how the puppy will do by himself with our dog (ie: both will get into trouble!). I also gave BF his birthday gift early since I've been such a bitch lately and he didn't want to open it!!!!!

Oh and BF is getting my mom's diamond this weekend, so there's that! Now it's the official "oh shit, when is this going to happen???" for me.

Yay Friday.  It's my last day at my current job I can't wait to start my new job on Monday.  I have on the agenda lots of studying I take my first exam on Tuesday!  I feel good about it so I hope I pass. Tonight, just some light cleaning and studying.  Tomorrow afternoon going to girl's lunch with some of FI"s family, his grandma, his aunt, FMIL and FSIL, who is up from DC.  I am looking forward to it and they are coming by to hang out at the house. 

Otherwise the rest of the weekend is for studying and football watching.

@buddysmom80- I know I can't believe we are almost 2 months away...I have to keep reminding myself that we got engaged back in February and not yesterday. It seems like it has flown by.

Also I'm obsessed with goldens so I'm excited to see some cute little puppy pictures on Monday! And...EEEKKK for picking up Mom's diamond ring?!?!? Say What?!?! So exciting!!

@southernpeach89 - I *loved* getting home everyday and checking the mail. We got a ton right after we sent out our invitations, and then just a couple here and there for a while, and then a ton right around the RSVP by date. Happy early birthday!

@KeptInStitches - I had one of those little throat tickles which turned into one of the worst sore throats of my life which turned into having to blow my nose every 5 minutes and coughing up a storm. It lasted SO long too, I'm finally started to feel 100% now. Feel better!

@Kait - I have friends that don't ever go out until 10pm and I barely see them anymore. I cannot be STARTING my night at 10pm, that is way too late for this old lady. Have fun!

@KateJ16 - Have a great time celebrating with your family!

@southernpeach89 my parent's have had Golden Retrievers since 1990 and got their last three goldens from the same breeder. They had a 13 year old golden they had to put down while out west for the summer and they HATE being in a house without a dog so I knew they were getting one soon, but not this soon. We (my mom, the puppy and I) had a Skype date the other night and he is so freaking adorable! I'm going to snuggle his face off this weekend! My poor dog is going to get so jealous (even though he's freaking cute too)

Yes I'm excited about the diamond too! I'm just glad my mom is giving us hers since the markup on diamonds are crazy now! We picked out three settings in June or July (I think July) and BF just has to choose which one and go from there. I have no clue when it's going to happen. He said the end of this year, but plans could always change.

Tonight we're probably getting together with my brother and his BF for dinner and to watch Prisoners.  I CAN'T WAIT to see it.  It looks SO good.

Tomorrow, @buggle2 and Mr. Buggle are coming to Chicago to visit!!!  We'll hang and do fun things.  Then Sunday, Mr. Shoes and I are catching the Cubs game with @buggle2 and Mr. Buggle.

Then @buggle2 leaves and I prepare for my first day of work...on Monday!!!

@buddysmom80 -We have had goldens are a while too. They are seriously the best dogs! We put our first down back in 2004/05 I believe and it's the hardest thing but it's so true that you just can't live in a house w/o a dog after going through that.

I love skyping with the puppies lol!! It's so cute calling their names and they are like What?!?! Where are you lol?

@swazzle -I've never been so crazed about checking the mail lol. FI probably thinks I'm crazy lol.

Happy Friday, hoars!  

Tonight DH and I are going to the airport to pick up my little brother and his wife and take them to dinner. They have a 3 hour layover here on their way home to NY from Arizona. He is in the army and being deployed to South Korea at the end of the month so he's going home to see family before that. I'm excited we have the chance to see each other but worried and nervous too. 

Tomorrow I will probably work on my committee meeting presentation and reading/studying up for it. DH will wash his car b/c apparently that is what he does every Saturday now. 

Sunday is football day and more studying. Maybe we will buy some groceries at some point too. 

Good god my life is boring.

@swazzle it's totally NOT BSC to get excited for me! I try not to get too BSC and if I do I go on WB and see all the BSC there and I'm like "don't be that guy".

@cschiano thanks for saying something about groceries. I have to remember to go grocery shopping on Sunday!

It sounds like everyone has some fun things going on this weekend!

My dad is actually in town for work, so H and I are going to dinner with him and my grandpa tonight. No idea where, but it will be fun to catch up.

Tomorrow we don't really have plans. I'm hoping to post some wedding items on craigslist and get that stuff out of my garage before we start getting snow! Then maybe a movie date with H? We haven't been to the movies in so long I don't even know what's playing!

Sunday we have plans with Lunarsongbird and her H! We're going to an amusement park. I'm super excited as I haven't been to an amusement park since high school. Should be a fun time goofing around with our guys!

Happy Friday!  H and I have a date night on Saturday at a nice restaurant and then we are going to watch our wedding video we were supposed to watch this week (my work prevented it...like it prevents doing anything fun sometimes). 

@loves2shop4shoes ... You'll be in my neck of the woods for the Cubs game but it sucks because I'll be running around all day Sunday doing errands I couldn't do this week.  Otherwise we could have a mini Chicago GTG before our scheduled one.  I guess I'll just have to wait for a few weeks to meet all you Chicago/Midwest NEYrs.

Happy Friday!

Today I'm off to target to buy some props for taking photos of some invitations. I'm probably going to buy a few tablecloths, some fake flowers, and a few other things. I also want to get a binder with page protectors to keep all of our samples organized. Later, BF and I will go to Kinkos to print all of our designs onto the new, heavier paper we got. Also - the fancy paper trimmer we bought got delivered last night and I looooove it.

Tonight we'll either go to Peekskill Brewery for some foods and drinks - I've never been there and it's a bit of a drive away, but it has great reviews. OR we'll go see "Prisoners" at the Alamo Drafthouse which just opened up nearby. 

@Swazzle - let us know if you like Prisoners! If I don't see it tonight I'm going to have a tough time deciding between that and Don Jon next week!

@loves2shop4shoes yes you MUST have at least one Old Style - and you have to get a proper Chicago Style hot dog.  Be sure to use the condiment cart (not the little packets of stuff) so you can get the electric green relish, because it makes ALL the difference!!

Ahhhhh I want to go drink beer and eat ball park food!!

@allusive007 - I think you've encouraged me to start getting my wedding stuff together to sell. There's just SO much stuff that's it's really overwhelming. I need to get my basement organized, though, in case we get another hurricane this year

This weekend is really low-key for me. I think the parentals want to go out tonight to celebrate the end of my old job and the start of my new one. Tomorrow BF and I have ZERO plans which is awesome. It's supposed to rain so we'll probably clean and work on projects around the house. Sunday is little sis's birthday bash. I'm withholding her present until next week though since we have plans to go shopping at Sephora and then get some wine afterwards.

Today is my last day at work!! OMG! I happened to be in the elevator with the former CEO/Chairman of the Board/guy who originally started my company this morning so I got to have a good conversation with him about how much I've really appreciated and enjoyed my time with the company. He's a sweet, old man and he doesn't come in every day so I'm glad I got to see him and thank him on my last day here. Up until today I've managed to stay really focused at work but today I think I'm gonna have a hard time...oh well..I don't really care anymore.

@buddysmom80 - I know! I'm not ready for snow either, but after the last week of weather (65 yesterday?!? Rain ALL last week?!?) I think i'd better start preping now!

@swazzle - I got the guest closet cleared out last weekend and figured out what I was keeping, what was trash and what was saleable. Still in piles in the garage and in the bedroom, but if I don't do it in baby steps i'm too overwhelmed too. I just don't want to have all this stuff clogging up my house anymore!

Well Bean's birthday party is this weekend. We couldn't hold it on his actual birthday last weekend as most of my family was attending a wedding for a close family friend. My mom and I were the only ones not invited. I can't lie, it kinda stung. Every couple has to make cuts to their dream list, I'm sure, so I didn't let it sting too much.

Anyhow, last night Bean and I went to the store so he could order his cake design. He settled on a halloween style design that looks like eyeballs floating on top of the cake.I shook my head and had to remind myself that I told him he could pick whatever he wanted.

Tonight I'll be doing some cleaning and barking orders at Bean. Tomorrow morning, el Senor will join the ranks of my cleaning minions since the doctors still won't let me do much. I'm allowed to do dishes (as long as I don't have to be on my feet for long), and load the washing machine with laundry and sweep. That's about it. Guess what that means? My house is an effing sty. Then it'll be party time and I can just sit and enjoy it.

Sunday I plan on laying on the couch All. Day. Long. And I'm not going to feel sorry about it.

I completely love when I can pay off my debt. Payday was today and because of my budget, I was able to put $200 toward my credit card debt which cuts it in half and pays off the whole hotel deposit for Vermont plus a bit more. It's just like seeing the number on my account getting sent over makes me so happy!
