When are other couples mailing their wedding invitations?

Hello fellow February brides! I am getting married on 2/22/14 and am unsure about when to mail our invitations. 6-8 weeks puts it right at the end of December/beginning of January. I am concerned they will get lost in the shuffle of holiday cards. Does that seem too late and give me enough time to follow up with people who haven't RSVPed? I thought about sending them after Thanksgiving but that seems too early. Any thoughts or perspectives are appreciated!

Hey! I'm getting married the same day, and we decided we would send ours out in early December.  It's early, but sending them during the busiest weeks of december seems like a bad idea, and so does sending them out later than that.

I'm sending mine the last few weeks in November, but I'm getting married late January, so that isn't terribly early.  But yes, the holiday rush is a little annoying for weddings in January and February.

I am getting married Feb. 15th and plan on sending mine out during Thanksgiving. It's early, but I am scared about them getting lost with holiday mail. It gives us time to send out extras if they do get lost.

I'm getting married Feb 15th too! I'm having a small wedding and then a party in March. I think those invites will be sent early January.

Our date is February 8 so I'll send them out right around December 1. I definitely want to avoid the holiday card rush.

I am getting married on February 22nd as well, we were thinking about sending out our invitations in the middle of December. Our shower is the 30th of November, so I wouldn't want to overwhelm people.

I'm getting married 2/22/14 as well and plan on sending mine out the first week of December.

We share the same date! ^_^  My fiance and I are sending them out Nov 8. My side of the guest list is either CA or HI, the wedding is where we live in the state of NY. We want to give everyone enough time to decide if they will be able to make it or not. 

Plus with Thanksgiving ( we have a few birthdays around this time of year in my family) & Christmas we were afraid of the invitation getting mixed up with all the holiday cards being sent out. We both come from very large families.

Thanks so much ladies! That is helpful to understand everyone's thought process on when they're sending theirs out. Now I just have to get them started...and finished.
