Alterations issues

Hello, first time post here......I was planning to have Clarissa's alter my dress for my May wedding. When I called today they were booked. I called Bridal Beginnings and Exquisite Brides, they won't alter dresses unless purchased at the store. I purchased mine at David's Bridal and am reluctant to get it altered there. Any suggestions for either a store that will alter a dress not purchased there or a very good seamstress/tailor. I live in Mt. Washington. Thanks

Michael's Bridal in the North Hills. Yolanda is great and will alter dresses that weren't purchased at her store.

I have heard personally and read on this board that David's Bridal is not great at alterations.

I second Michael's Bridal Galleria- Yolanda is patient and personable!

I have heard good things about Sewing by Beteena in Bridgeville. I've never personally used her, but she did an emergency alteration on a friend's wedding dress after the first shop screwed it up. Her prices are supposed to be pretty reasonable too.

I just found out that my friend's mom used to have her own business but now still does alterations on the side.  She lives in the north hills.  If you are interested you can PM me; she said it was OK to give her number out here.

I'm getting mine done in McMurray at Amy's Alterations. She's been doing a great job on mine! I actually purchased a vintage dress that was too small around the chest area and she was able to take the dress out and even reshaped the sweetheart neckline so that it fit my chest area a bit better. She's also really reasonable. If you're interested, I can send you her information.
