Bridal Party Line Up

Obviously I know that the Maid of Honor and Best Man are partners when walking out of the church, etc.  However, I'm having a hard time trying to match up the rest of my bridal party.  I have 4 additional girls and he has 5.  Originally I had a total of 6 girls (incl. my MOH) but one of my bridesmaids dropped out. So, I already know that one of my girls will be walking with 2 guys.  I will definitely be pairing up my brother with his wife, so that leaves 3 girls and 4 guys.

How do I pair up the remainder?  2 of my bridesmaids haven't met the groomsmen yet.  Both girls know my brother and my fiancé but they haven't met the others.
This is like a bad math problem that I have to try and solve.  Agh! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am in the SAME EXACT POSITION!! same numbers, too! However in my situation, he has 2 really short groomsmen, and his sister who is a bridesmaid is also really short.... so she will be the one to walk out with two guys (the shorties!) otherwise my girls would completely tower over those groomsmen!

Maybe height can play a factor? I am going to have them come out last after the bridal party (but right before the MOH/BM)

In the weddings I've been in the guys were already up on the alter.  The girls walked down single file according to height order.  MOH being last.  When we walked back out it was MOH and BM then the rest of us just filed out of the pews and walked with the next groomsmen.

If your bridal party is being introduced at the reception you'll need to figure it out ahead of time.  But it's not something to drive yourself crazy over.  I've been partnered up with groomsmen I never knew and it wasn't a big deal.  We walked in together lined up how we were told and I'm not sure I saw him the rest of the night.

I think you're thinking about this way too much.  It doesn't matter if they don't know each other - they will just be escorted down the aisle for a very short time. Match up by height if possible, but don't worry about it too much.

And, if they don't know each other and the numbers are uneven, then don't make a big deal of the entire party joining in on your first dance or anything - they'll just walk out of the church together and that's it.

For the uneven numbers, I would just have two groomsmen walk with a bridesmaid, or have the extra groomsman walk out alone.

I was thinking that.  All of my bridesmaids are about the same height, which is good.  The groomsmen vary in height...come to think of it, the only "tall" ones are my brother and BM.

They'll be introduced at the reception and will be asked to join in on the first dance.  I'm sure that the one bridesmaid that walks out with 2 groomsmen will be ok with it.  It'll all come together, I'm sure.

    Thanks for the advice ladies.

I actually thought less about matching up heights and more about personalities.  I think it's just a personal preference.  And like PP said, they're not together for that long anyway.  Don't stress too much on this one!
