Skincare question!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. My face is breaking out horribly, I guess due to the stress of planning a wedding in 4 1/2 months. I've never had a problem with this and have a skincare regimen (sea salt scrub and cetaphil) that I use but it's just not working. Has anyone else dealt with this and does anyone have suggestions on a skincare regimen that might work better? I feel like a teenager, haha! Thanks :-)

Re: Skincare question!

  • I actually had the best luck when I stopped using a bunch of stuff. I just use plain water or Cetaphil bar soap to wash my face in the morning, and I use the regular Oil of Olay moisturizer with SPF every morning. In the winter, I also use a Burt's Bees night cream overnight.

If you're really having an issue, you might want to see a dermatologist.

I need to look for the Cetaphil bar soap. I have tried just water but we have well water so my skin dries out so bad. I use a good moisturizer but I think you're suggestion of seeing a dermatologist might be a good idea! Thanks!

  • I'm having the SAME issue!! It's probably hormonal/stress if you normally do not have skin issues. When is your wedding? If its soon, I wouldnt try any new regimens. I tried that and my skin freaked out (I dont even have sensitive skin). Stick with what has always worked for you. Don't overwash. Don't cake on medication or combine medications. Just try to RELAX! =) I thought about seeing a Derm, but honestly I wouldnt. Sometimes perscriptions or their solutions make it worse before it gets better, you never know how your skin will react to something new. Maybe try just getting a relaxing facial at a spa? Nothing too invasive. And I know some people will shun me for saying this, but tanning sometimes clears up my skin since its basically drying it out. Just keep up with moisturizer. Also, not wearing makeup for awhile helps too, as it can clog up your pores. ALOT of advice. But I get what you're going through ;) Good luck!

It's November 2nd so very close. That's a good point not to change things. I wish I could tan because it clears my skin up to but I'm not allowed to with the medications I'm on for Lupus. I have been going with absolutely no make up which I hate but I'm hoping that will help. I have been washing twice a day. I hope it will get better and I hope yours does too :-)

Are you getting your makeup professionally done? They are usually pretty good about covering up these issues, thankfully. Just don't pop any! That will make it harder to cover up. Annddd thank goodness for photoshop!

Yes, one of my best friends is a make up artist so I do have a professional to do my makeup and she is a miracle worker, haha! I have to resist the urge to touch and mess with my face. Definitely thank goodness for photoshop!

Thank you so much for the advice!
