Florist Recommendations

Do you have any recommendations for florists in the Harrisburg/Camp Hill/Mechanicsburg area? Anyone we should avoid? Also, how far out are you doing your floral contracts? We've met with two so far, and our wedding is a year away. The one place was very nice, but I got the impression that they didn't understand what we wanted. The other one was great and definitely more willing to work with our ideas, but she was a little outside of our budget. Thanks!

Re: Florist Recommendations

  • Highly recommend Weddings and Blooms!  Local family owned business and Leah is amazing to work with!
  • Thanks, Shutterbug!  Leah was actually Florist #2 - loved her, but a little outside of our budget.  I think she might be worth it, though...
  • So far I've had a very good experience with The Garden Bouquet in Mechanicsburg!
  • I am working with Sarah from Sarah's Blooms.  She lives inbetween Carlisle and Boiling Springs, she is a wonderful lady and does some amazing work!  (I've been to other wedding she was the florist for).  Also she does everything local, composts and will work with any budget!!!!  Highly recomend her.
  • We also recommend Weddings and Blooms!  My sister got married in 2012 and used them, and I'm excited to use them for my wedding next year.  We have had a wonderful experience so far!  If you are on a tight budget, Leah has lots of smaller arrangements that you can do for the tables.  We are getting the vintage bud vases for our centerpieces, and they are very affordable.
  • I also used Weddings and Blooms and highly recommend Leah. Just let her know what your budget is and see what she can do within it. I thought her prices were very reasonable compared with others that I looked at, although I didn't need much in the way of decoration (simple floral centerpieces were included with our reception venue package and I didn't want anything more than that).  Can you reuse ceremony flowers at your reception venue to cut down on costs and how many arrangements you'd need to order? Something to consider.
  • Not in your direct area but I've heard really great things about Alma's in Middletown. We plan on checking her out.
  • We are using Hammaker's Flower shop in Lemoyne.  It is a wonderful mother/daughter owned shop and they are both so sweet and helpful.  All of the bouquets and flowers that they do are unique to your individual taste.  It is very rare that two bouquets ever look the same.  Wendi, the daughter, is also a wedding coordinator.  They are very mindful of budget and are extremely reasonably priced- from the actual flowers to the delivery charge! :)
