How was your weekend?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Glad to hear everyone had such exciting weekends! I did get the Christmas throws done somewhere around 2 a.m. Saturday. My mom and I were able to block the two throws and a baby afghan I finished on Saturday afternoon, and I ate all the things because I was tired and needed energy. Unfortunately, I learned that because of miscommunication I have been left off the craft show this year. It'll turn out okay. I have more time to knit now and I'll be talking to other area craft show organizers to try to get into more places next year.

Yesterday I watched football all day - the Redskins won (told you so, @buddysmom80) and my fantasy team blew out my opponent. Not much fun in it, though - he's already quit adjusting his lineup and playing him is kind of like having a bye week. I hope that I can convince the commissioner of the league to throw back his players into free agency because if he's not playing, it's not fair for him to sit on guys like Tom Brady.

And I got sick from eating too much pizza. So today I'm back on fruits and veggies.
  • @hummingbird125 - One of BF's friends did the same thing as your sister! She broke up with her dick of a BF, we spent a weekend trashing him and discussing everything that was wrong with their relationship, then in like two days they were back together. Honestly, it's really awkward to hang-out with them now. BF and I know that this relationship won't end well and will make her miserable but there's not really any point in talking to her. She sucks at relationships and is so desperate to get married she doesn't seem to actually care about finding a good guy who makes her happy. It's sad really.

  • @bethsmiles - it's going to be SO awkward to to talk to her. She is very sensitive and defensive in general, and I know that if I eve call or text her to say "So, you got back together?" she'll fee like she's being attacked and go on the defensive, so I haven't even reached out to her yet!My sister is only 20 and she actually said to me (right after they broke up) "It's not like I'm going to marry him someday". However, it IS her first serious relationship and they are just a few weeks away from their 1-year anniversary, so I guess it's tough for her.

I'm probably not a great judge since my current BF is my first and only serious relationship, but I've never understood why people stay in relationships with so many problems - especially so early on!

I'm right there with you. BF is my first serious relationship but I don't know how we would've worked if we had some of the problems my friends say are in their relationships. I feel like relationships should be easy most of the time. Yeah, we'll all have some issues in our relationships but it shouldn't be a constant battle!

  • @KateJ16 Eeee we might not be date twins, but we're venue-booking twins!! What kinds of dresses did you try on? The biggest reason I want to wait to start shopping is that I know that whatever samples they have at the boutique will be for smaller ladies ... and I don't want to have my self-esteem crushed too much.

I tried literally every dress anyone threw at me - I didn't want to ignore something that I might love on just because of how it looked on the hanger.  We ended up with four dresses that we all liked, but the more I think about it, I'm kind of hooked on one!

I'm heading out to the burbs again tonight and going to a different place... so we shall see!
