Help!! Anyone have information on The chapel shelter?

Hi everyone,

 

I fell in love with the venue The Chapel Shelter in Riverview Park in Pennsylvania. When I called to reserve the shelter the man told me I cannot reserve until March 31st, 2014. I'm planning on having my wedding Sept 2014. It gets worse, he stated that on March 31st I have to go to the Pittsburgh city council building and attend what they call "the lottery". Basically, people will go, get a number, and whatever number they pick for the batch will have the first pick. This is very frusterating. Has anyone attended a lottery for their venue like this? Did it work out for you if you did?

I didn't do this myself but I had looked into it. Next year's lottery is on March 23 and they start giving out numbers at 7:30am. You could go with a few dates in mind and get in line a couple hours early. They have the paperwork online so you can have everything ready beforehand.

September shouldn't be too bad since that's no longer grad party season, and what most people will be fighting for.
