Bridal gown scams....

http://justinbridals.com/ ~ This site claims to "remake" designer gowns, which isn't the issue. Myself, like some other people don't care so much about "labels" getting a good deal seems a little more alluring to me. So in my search for my perfect dress I came across Allure 8901. I found it in a local shop tried it on and fell in love. I went home and over that next weekend I did some searching on it. I came across a lot of website claiming to sell this $2000 Allure gown for under $400! I said "To good to be true!" So I emailed them ~ Below is their reply:

"We made this dress in our factory!IT has high quality if you order DRESS IN Our factory you will get it in 20 to 25 days We are not only a wedding dress factory, but also the supplier of many United States entities wedding dress store. We employ hundreds of skilled workers. As we sell our wedding dress with no profit, our wedding dresses' price are always cheaper than many United States entities wedding dress store. We will provide you a perfect after-sale service. We promise you as follows. 1.We will modify it free for you if its size is not suitable. 2.You can apply for return if you are not satified with the work and quality. Our factory is in Taiwan. Our phone number is 1-4356250133.Please email to us if you have any problems as our oral English is poor"

As I figured...There's no way this gown would be an actual Allure and selling for $328!! None the less I considered taking the gamble to save $1500. A few weeks pass and the "company" stumbles across my "The Knot" post about it ~ Which can be found here. http://forums.theknot.com/discussion/964171/2000-allure-for-328-too-good-to-be-true

They contacted me and asked for me to take down the thread. I said I would take the post down IF they sent me the gown. They said, "We cant send for free but if you pay shipping." I agreed!! Thought, Hey worth a shot. If its awful I can scrap it or resell it on Craigslist for $100 and make a little profit.

After 3 attempts to order the gown through a special link they sent me that would allow me to just pay $85 for the dress with shipping - Each time my Visa and Mastercard was rejected. BUUUUUT the next day I get an email saying "We are now preparing your dress, you will get it soon" Im thinking - oh great it actually did go through, problem was I didn't see the charge on my card :/ So I emailed them AGAIN and said "Can you please provide the tracking number for the gown I ordered? I need to make sure the payment went through." In return they said "Now we are preparing your dress, you will get it soon and we will give you the tracking number -YOUR PAYMENT IS NOT SUCCESSFUL! PLEASE PAY AGAIN!"

Again, I figured the payment wasn't successful because I didnt see the charge on my cards. At this point I'm over trying to work with these people and I start to do a lot more research. I come across a website that suggested it was unsafe and perhaps a scam! http://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/justinbridals.com I sent what was intended to be my last email to them. It simply said "Unfortunately, I found this about your site and business. It seems like a scam to me and now because of all this back and forth I'm not going to be sending any money to your company. I dont believe I will actually receive this gown."

AWWW....then the nasty emails started flowing in from these people! I dont want to post all of the rude and nasty comments but one said "My God!! YOU ARE A FOOL! You pay by visa, do you know visa? if you do not get wedding dress you can complaints to you vusa bank and get money back!" I thought to myself REALLY, DID I JUST GET THAT EMAIL - oK, My reply to that "Well this email is going on the knot! Dont contact me any further or you and this company will be reported"

To keep a long story from being any longer....Today alone Ive received 5 emails...one telling me "You must not be American." "you are blackmail." "Im sorry, my english very poor, we hope you del the post." "You think we cheat you for $88!" and the last one said they are "contacting their US lawyers."

Go ahead and contact your US lawyers - problem is you are a business accepting money from people and your business or website cant even be tracked..And these are public websites where people (brides) exchange info to help one another in cases JUST LIKE THIS! You have no case! So go ahead I look forward to a call...yea right!

What a bunch a crazies!! So ladies, beware of these over seas bridal sites...some might be legit but this one I have a strong feeling is not...AND if by some chance they are they sure do not know how to talk to potential customers.

Research, research, research!! I hope this helps someone in the future!!
