We got married on 5-12-12 and had the most fantastic day ever. All of our vendors were spectacular.
Ceremony Venue: Christ United Methodist Church-Bethel Park, PA
I've gone here since high school, so it was a no brainer as to where we were going to get married. Mary Ann is the wedding coordinator and she was fantastic. We were married by Rev. Chris Morgan. He's great and really down to earth.
Reception Venue: Holy Cross Banquet Hall-Mt. Lebanaon, PA
Holy Cross is truly a blank slate and takes some imagination and creativity to dress it up. If you're willing to put in the work, it's a great venue and the price is right. It's a large room and with everyone seated for dinner, it still felt large and open. The coordiantor is Mary Kay. She's a little disorganized and can be hard to get a hold of via e-mail, but she was always helpful when i needed her.
Caterer: All the Best Catering-Pittsburgh, PA
Fantastic food, easy to work with. Judee Henderson is awesome and really helped us out when our first caterer went bankrupt and backed out with our deposit.
Cake and Desserts: Signature Desserts-Castle Shannon, PA
Great cake and desserts. Allowed us to design our own cake and they are flexible with their packages.
DJ: Andy Hutelmyer
Andy was great, not cheesy and played music that kept everyone on the dance floor all night. Seriously, it was packed. Got everyone's name right and I don't remember hearing any songs that were on our "do not play" list.
Hair: Brooke Rockwell-Pittsburgh, PA
Brooke and her sister Harbor came to my hotel room the morning of the wedding. The got there about 9:30AM and did my five bridesmaids, two flowergirls, and myself. They were out by 11:30 or so. Everyone's hair stayed up and they were pretty much able to create the styles all of the girls wanted. My cousin brought a picture of a Taylor Swift up-do and Harbor almost exactly replicated it.
Make-up: Jessica Tyler (Cara Bella Make-Up Artistry)-State College, PA
I booked Jessica last summer when she was still living in Pittsburgh. She has since moved to the State College area, but thankfuly came back to Pittsburgh for my wedding. She brought another artist with her and they were also great. They came to my hotel room about 9:30 and did my 5 bridesmaids, me, and two flowergirls by 11:45. Everyone's make-up still looked great at the end of the night. Jessica is no longer taking Pittsburgh bookings, but will refer you to another local artist. Jess uses MAC products.
Photography: Randi Voss Photography-Pittsburgh, PA
Pure awesomeness. Randi is worth every single penny. Her sister Nicki was her second and Ryan ran our ShotBox. Randi and Nicki captured some things that I didn't even know had happened throughout the night. For example, Chuck's dad apparently high fived him as we were going back down the aisle after our ceremony. I didn't even have a clue until I saw the pictures of it. Ryan ran our ShotBox and did a fantastic job with our rather rowdy guests. I honestly can't say enough great things about Randi. Our photos can be viewed on her website.
Transportation: Lenzner Coach Lines-Pittsburgh, PA
We had a 25 passenger mini-bus that we used as a shuttle for our guests between the hotel and the reception. We also rode the shuttle. Our driver was funny and courteous. Jen K. is the woman who worked with us in the office and she was great as well. She had no problem accomodating a last minute itenerary change for us.
Uplighting: Modern Era Weddings (Bill Bara)-Pittsburgh, PA
No problems with the lights, easy to work with. The lights were set up on time and totally transformed the look of the hall.
Florist: Val Brooks
Val has a lot of experience in floral and works out of her home in the Millvale/Shaler area. Her prices are right and she did everything she could to help me out for our wedding. We loved the flowers and centerpieces that she did.
Rehearsal Dinner: Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South-Bethel Park, PA
My MIL handled everything with the rehearsal dinner. She worked with Kelly at the hotel to create a barbeque menu. They are so fantastic and the food was phenomenal. Kelly and the chef went out of their way to create a menu especially for us, which ended up working out so well.
Hotel Block: Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South-Bethel Park, PA
Rooms were large enough and comforatable. I had one of the large bridal suites, which worked out great. We worked with Courtney who helped us out with a few things that came up in the days before the wedding. She went to bat for us and was helpful and quick to respond by e-mail.
I think that is it. I'll edit late if I forgot anyone. Overall, we had great vendors and I would highly recommend any of them.
