Randumbs

1.  My spotify is OUT.OF.CONTROL.  Basically I stalk music, add it to "New Music" and eventually go through it and add to my sub albums...but it's like my makeup hoarding, I hardly ever have time to actually listen to something more than once.

2.  I love my shorter hair, but I have to remember to wash it more often.  Apparently supa-long hair allows for more dirtballing.  Sad.  There goes my shampoo budget (mostly kidding)

3.  H and I are starting to do actual financial planning and seeing projected "needed money for retirement" makes me just want to give up and live in a cardboard box.  Also, we eat out too much.

4.  Friend is coming to visit this weekend.  Is it bad I'm trying to figure out how much we can drink without getting in trouble?  No?  Okay.

Re: Randumbs

  • 5.  H went to my parent's house to help them "fix" the mower.  Apparently its 20 years old, held together by duct tape, some cardboard and it's a royal red-neck p.o.s.  Also, my parents are selling their house and apparently my mom's horrid paint choices have struck again.  She tends to like the ugliest colors....colors the resemble bodily fluids.  And she calls my point choices "boring".

You tell me which color is nicer:

  • Explain Spotify to me. I've been listening on the web. How do you add new music and stuff? Or is that something I have to pay for (and therefore don't bother, because I won't.)?

Obviously, I am old, and need computers explained to me.

  • Baconsmom-I don't do technical terms, but it's a program that you download, it's free, you can listen to entire albums, make your own playlists, follow other people, and you can use it mobile as a "radio" app without paying.

    I love it.
  • No, I got that part - and you have to pay for mobile, I discovered, after 48 hours - I'm just confused as to how to add things. If you "follow" an artist, does that add music somewhere, or is it like Facebook? And can you add things specifically to a station you already made, like on Slacker?

  • My company's retirement thing sent out that if I keep saving at my current rate, I'll end up retiring making a pretty decent amount per year.  I thought I wasn't saving enough.

I wish I could use spotify but I can't install things on my work computer :(

We spend way too much money on going out to eat.  We've been better the last couple of weeks because we actualyl went to the grocery store and bought food, but there was one week we spent like $300 on food from lunch and dinner.  Ugh.

I finally convinced DH to throw out our 20 year old mower and that he needed to stop jacking with it.  We're finally down to only one mower in the garage now.  Yay!  There has been as many as four because he thinks he can fix ALL THE MOWERS and brings them home when he sees them out on garbage day.

  • I hear you on Spotify.  I also have this pet peeve about not being able to see all of my playlists on the side bar.  Y'know b/c scrolling is this new-fangled difficult thing to do.  *eyeroll @ myself*.  So, I unsubscribe to something and then I'm all, dammit, what was that awesome playlist?!

I have problems with listing to things once OR I have one song I end up with on a loop listening to over and over.  Lana del Ray does that to me, "Running Up That Hill" both OG and cover.  Really I can loop the new Great Gatsby trailer over and over and I'd be alright.
  • Now I have to listen to that, Varuna.  Because I always want to know what people think is good music.

Bolded just means super love, rather than just love

Actually, now I"m just going to make this a playlist.  Who needs to work this morning, NOT ME.
  • Seriously, I spend about 2 hours staring at my spotify a day.  I hope no one notices, though it's kind of obvious.

Also, I got that cd from the library, and proceeded to copy it.  MUSIC STEALER.
