RSVP cards

I am curious how to handle RSVP cards for a +1 situation. I was going to go ahead and fill in the guests' names on the RSVP cards so that I would know whose was whose in case anybody forgets to fill in the name line. Would I write, "*Guest's Name* and Guest" on the RSVP card? I've heard of people numbering the RSVP cards and their guest lists so they could match them up and figure out whose is whose if no name  was written on... would this be more appropriate? Thanks!

Re: RSVP cards

  • I think penciling numbers on the back or writing in invisible ink would be better than writing in their names, especially in the "plus one" situation.

  • Thanks. That makes a lot less work for me too!
  • I am creating my own RSVPs. I am doing something to the extent of:

Please mark who will be in attendance:
    ____ John Smith
    ____ (+1 ______________)

It'll look more fancier, but this is just as a general idea.
  • We did the number on the back (just written small, in regular ink) and it worked really well. We had a spreadsheet with everyone's contact information, so it was really easy to add a column to that and assign people numbers and keep track of it. We did actually have a few people forget, so I'm really glad we did it.
