Honeymoon is booked!! So excited! ❤️

I'm super excited we just booked our honeymoon today!! We are going on a southern caribbean cruise on Celebrity's Summitt! I've been looking at this cruise for a while now but got a really good deal today :) the cruise leaves out of San Juan and goes to Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten & St. Thomas we also got an aqua class suite!! I know a few people have been on similar cruises so any advice is greatly (including and tips about aqua class)!! ❤️

  • Awesome! We have 4 out of 5 ports the same and just 11 days 'til we leave!  I did find a good deal on a hotel in San Juan.  My mom stayed there before her cruise and she just returned yesterday. It's just one block from the beach.  http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g147320-d242220-Reviews-BEST_WESTERN_PLUS_Condado_Palm_Inn_Suites-San_Juan_Puerto_Rico.html

    When is your trip?

  • Ooh thx I will most likely need a hotel. It's April 19th! I hope you have am amazing time. Did your mom give you any other good tips??
  • I haven't talked to her much yet.  She did say it was $20 for the cab ride from the airport to the hotel, $20 for the hotel to the port and $26 from the port to the airport.  She said there's a restaurant around the corner from the hotel that was really good and not terribly pricey and there's a Walgreens across the street from the hotel so I think I'll wait and buy some toiletries there instead of hauling them down and weighing down the suitcase instead.  Also, when I recommended the hotel, I looked up the price for the dates I'm going to be there and it dropped a bit so I called them and they adjusted my rate and I saved $15! Woo :)  Every dollar counts right now. Ha!
  • We did almost the exact same cruise for our HM except we went to St. Kitts instead of Antigua.  You're going to have a great time.

  • @hobokenbride2012 any excursions advice ? I've read a post from you before regarding how you were sorta let down by st lucia. I've never been there so kinda wondering what in particular wasn't that great or if you would've spent your time there differently ? Thx!!

We went to the volcano and sulfur springs.  The excursion was fine. What turned me off was the people banging on the bus window begging everytime the bus stopped for a light or at an intersection. I'm really jaded about the whole experience.

I really enjoyed zip lining with TreeTop Adventures.  Not too expensive considering most zip lining prices and it included a "tour" (narrated bus trip) to and from the location.

I also had fun doing a kayak trip that was both on the ocean and river.  It was a lot of hard work but beautiful.

  • Ooh the kayak trip sounds cool! I never really have done an excursion that you have to take a bus are they air conditioned? That's the part that worries me.

For both of those trips the buses were air conditioned.  The zip lining bus was a mini bus (not a full size charter bus) and the kayak trip was more of a full size van.

This is the kayak trip we did (Roseau River/Marigot Bay) http://www.dfhkayaking.com/st-lucia-kayak-tours.html

They were great to work with, but there was a lot of dead time waiting for things to start (like they only had one pen for 20 people to sign release waivers).  We felt safe with them though.

I'm sure you can find other companies that can offer something similar.  Be sure to check Trip Advisor AND cruisecritic.com for reviews on independent tour operators.  They will give you a good idea of if they are safe and trustworthy.  Also make sure you will get a full refund if your ship would not make it to port for some reason.
