Hotels in New Paltz or Poughkeepsie?

We're getting married at Mohunk 9/27/14. Most of our guest won't be able to afford to stay there, though. Anyone have a good rec for a hotel that's not too far from Mohunk? I've looked on Tripadvisor and there are so many mixed reviews.

    Hi,

    I live smack in the middle of both places.  If it were me, I'd avoid the Poughkeepsie side of the river to have guests closer to Mohonk.  There are several very, very nice B&Bs in the area and New Paltz is such a nice area that time of year.  Have you considered B&Bs?  They may require a two night minimum for the weekend though, so that would be the only downside.  If you definitely want a hotel, the Grand is okay.  A few minutes south right on Rt. 9 is the Courtyard Marriott and then a little further is a relatively new (5 years now?) Hampton Inn.  Stay away from the Days Inn.  Good luck!
