Is there a reason you can't just address it to First Last or HusbandFirst and WifeFirst TheirLast or HusbandFirst HusbandLast and WifeFirst WifeLast? If I was sending any other piece of mail, this is how I would address it. I just feel like this way you avoid all of the political mishmosh this way and I'm not sure why wedding invitations are different than any other piece of mail.

I'm not even close to addressing my invitations yet, so no need to clutch your pearls just yet. I'm just wondering why this rule exists at all.

Thank you all for your input!  I'm sorry it took so long for me get back, my computer was down and my phone will let me read, but not respond. I've been trying to get hold of several of these ladies to ask their preferences, but have had no luck yet (many of them work your traditional 9-5 and I'm stuck working 3rd shift). I have about a month to go before I need to send out the STD's, and if I have to wing I think i might be able to do it now without stepping on too many toes.
