Not Engaged Yet

Miss you girls!

First off, it's ALMOST @southernpeach89's wedding day!  I'm beyond psyched and really need some more info on how this is going down.

Secondly, I apparently have a PM.  I should go read that...hmm..maybe I'm a secret mod!  That would be awesomely ironic.

Thirdly, FI had an interview the other day...and if he gets the job, we'd be moving like 600 miles away 4 months before our wedding (we would come back for the wedding) and I'm trying not to think he got it yet, but I'm kinda really excited about the possibility.  Even if it means our lives will be a bit hectic for a bit.

Discuss.  Tell me all about your lives.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

I hope your FI gets the job! I'm sure you'll still be able to manage the move, the wedding, and the job change no problem if it happens! It must be a really good opportunity to consider moving such a distance. Not a whole lot going on here other than @southern's wedding. I'm busy busy planning her bachelorette party in just 2 weeks!!! OMG I can't believe it's so close. I've been email blasting the whole guest list with ideas and super secret plans (am I driving you crazy yet little sis?). I'm pretty stoked for the trip. In case she hasn't AW'd the details yet, we're taking a weekend trip to Savannah, GA. All I'm doing right now is "working" from home...but I'm probably spending more time chuckling at the dog. She's dreaming in her sleep and keeps alternating between spastically wagging her tail and scrabbling her paws along the floor. It's pretty adorable. Wish I had gotten some video earlier. We miss you too! I was following posts on the Treehouse but not posting a whole ton. Since I changed jobs I haven't gone on at all. ETA: For some reason my paragraphs aren't showing up and I think it's related to the damn Knotlive screen...ugh!

  • WELCOME BACK aaaaah! Abouts where would you be moving to? That's so exciting about the job!

I am currently trying to finish up my work so I can run some errands and take care of my sick partner. We are also starting to book vendors and it's surreeeeeal.

And also Sox are in the playoffs fuck yeah.

  • @phira Oh gosh, sick partners are no fun!  My FI FINALLY gets to treat me like a human because I'm FINALLY almost better.  The doctors have cleared me after my stomach issues of the summer - I just have a lot of lingering anxiety.

@lmhollister My brother and future sister-in-law went to Savannah in May and just LOVED it!  I know it's a little closer for you guys, but ya know, it should be a ton of fun!  As for the really far away move...it's actually moving to within 3 hours of our parents, so that's a big driving factor.  The job also sounds cool too (and the location?  Let's just say I wouldn't second guess my future kiddos going to school there...I would here...)

  • @phira sorry, I'm slow.  We would be moving to FL.  We won't know until Nov-Dec I believe.

  • @Blue & White I totally get that. :) I had two good friends move away for a good job opportunity too. I was really sad to see them go but it put them really close to both sets of parents (my friends are a married couple) so I couldn't blame them at all. I've never been to Savannah as an adult so I'm really excited for the trip. I've been multiple times in the past...but everything is different when you're there, independent, and free to do what you want ya know?

Also, I'm gonna AW for @southernpeach89 some more. I happen to know that she and her FI went and applied for their marriage license today! Things are getting so close! We're only a month and a half away from the wedding!!!

  • AGHHH @Blue & White, I've missed you! I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were doing. I think the last time we chatted, you were sick? I hope that is long gone. Moving can be really exciting but also extremely stressful, @lmhollister and I have moved a lot during our lives since our Father was in the Army. FL is a great place though, we have family there.

Wedding planning has been great minus a few problems with my dress being altered but we got our marriage license yesterday and FI was like...let's just get married here and not tell anyone and I'm like, "NO I"M NOT GOING TO HAVE A PPD!!" He didn't understand lol.
  • HI
That's exciting about the new job prospect keep us posted.  I am just in studying hell, I'm tired and I better pass these exams.  Ok study break over now.....

  • @southernpeach89 yep, I was sick all summer. Had a c diff infection that turned into post infection IBS that none of my doctors could diagnose so I was losing weight like crazy. I'm finally (mostly) back to normal and have gained back enough weight to be healthy now. And I can eat normally. It's glorious. Plus I've paid off all my medical bills so I might actually be able to replenish my savings at some point.

I'm making a pumpkin pie right now <--evidence I'm doing better.

I got stuck in the box, but damn, woman! That sucks and I'm glad things are getting back to normal. That is a rather awful combination of illnesses!
  • Yes yes it is lol. It was quite the experience I hope I never have to repeat

  • I'm glad you're feeling better, though! Pumpkin pie is amazing - do you do yours from fresh or canned? I'm too afraid to tackle fresh.
  • I did mine from canned (I had 2 giant cans so I needed to use some!) but my grandma did one from a fresh pumpkin she stole from her neighbors trash once lol. And it was also delicious.

    My gma is crazy ;)

AAAH not c diff!! I have ulcerative colitis, so every time I flare I get tested for c diff. I'm so glad you're feeling better--those symptoms are The Worst Ever.
