Wedding Woes

Things

1)  The kiddo lost his iPod yesterday at the pumpkin patch.  It fell out of his pocket.  He held it together until we got home before he started boo-hooing about it.  He had to be the tough, big cousin in front of my nephew.  ;)  I'm proud he held it together.  We may have to get a phone for him sooner than later.  We've been talking about it for awhile now.  I think we may make him pony up some of his own money for the phone.  We're not in a hurry though...He needs to suffer w/o a device for a bit.

2) My mom is resigning from her job this week.  She's had a terrible time lately and is just over it.  I'm happy because it means she won't be a hot mess through the holidays. Also, she can take the kids for us when we got to Nashville for our anniversary in a few weeks.

3) My younger sister has started looking into fostering to adopt a child.  I'm very excited for her and her husband.  They will make amazing parents.

4)  DefConn has started calling himself "Baby Thor", which just as cute as you can imagine it to be.

5) I need to go food shopping today.  I don't want to.  These are the times I wish I had grocery delivery.

  • 1.  Oh man, that would suck, but I am the hardass no sympathy that thinks, "why are you taking your ipod to a pumpkin patch?".  BUT, it's great you're easing him into a phone WITH contribution from his own pocket.  Thats a good lesson to learn.

    2.  Oh boy, is she changing careers then?

    3.  Wow---thats a pretty big step *vibes*

    4.  So cute, I hope you share photos on FB when the costume is complete.

    5. Food?  Ugh.

    My things:

Friend drives me crazy because she constantly harps about her FI, and never really gives him hard lines...and then complains AGAIN about the fact that he won't just change over night.  You signed up for this, not me.

Anniversary was really nice.  H worked 8-4, but I got to do all my favorite things:  Run, Coffee, Time with H, Good food and Sechs.  WIN!

Parents are now taking care of my Nephew because he dislikes his mother's (soon to be ex-SIL) suffocating ways so much that he can't stand sharing a house with her 3 days out of the week.  She's cray cray, yo.

Also, huge benefit of H going back to work?  Sharing crazy stories with me from work.  People be weird.  VERY WEIRD.
  • 1. Bummer about the ipod.  Son lost his phone on vacation last year.  It fell out of his pocket onto the seat of a ride at an amusement park.  Someone turned it in so we did get it back but he was just sick with worry about it.  He hasn't lost it since.  In fact, when he would get on a ride on vacation this year, he asked one of us to hold it while he rode.

    2.  I wish my mom would do the same.  She has really loved her job in special education until a couple years ago.  Administration changed things up and she's just miserable.  Also there are a few new teachers who are dicks and quite obviously look down on her.  They do not appreciate what she does.  My dad is more than likely retiring at the beginning of the year.  Neither of them are the type to just be home, so I have no idea what he's going to do (or what she would do if she left her job).  I just want them to be happy.

  • Ugh, I wish my mom would quit her job. Every few months they do a round of layoffs and she ends up in fear she's going to get cut, but then doesn't. She doesn't want to because if she gets laid off, she'll get severance and all that and she can ease int retirement. Supposedly, they are cutting another 8000 jobs at her company so maybe this time she'll get the axe.

    1) DH handed it to him yesterday.  He definitely had no sympathy for the kid.  I didn't have to say anything at all.  But DH and I also have realized that we need to get him a phone, since the iPod operates on wifi only. He wants to go to the movies and the mall with friends and whatnot.  He's turning the big 1-3 in December.

    2) IDK what she's going to do.  She's taking off until the end of the year before she starts looking.
  • That's a lot of things.  Have you heard more about Thor's ears?

    M2 funny:

Her excuse me is "Scuse scuse me."  We were driving the other day and she let out a huge toot.  Her eyes got big and she said "Mommy, that was a BIIIIG scuse scuse me."  Yep, that was a highlight of the weekend.

  • Tubes next week.  I'm hoping we get an early time, but we won't know until Friday.
  • DS is going to be Baby Iron Man. Maybe we should put together some sort of WW Baby Avengers Team. :)
