DJs

Hi!! I am looking for a DJ for my July 2011 wedding. Everyone I find seems so expensive ($1,000 and above). That is really not even close to my price range!!! However, I am looking at DJ companies. I was thinking that a solo DJ might be a better route for us. We are on a tight budget. Like many couples, we are new graduates and still looking for jobs!!! Does anyone know of any GOOD DJS that are also at a reasonable price?? Thanks!!!

I hear ya on DJs. I wanted to book one for about $500, but I didn't see any recommendations for that amount. We booked Andy Booth, who is about $1K, but he has a great reputation and you can break the payment out into installments.

It would help other knotties if you said what you considered to be "reasonable." Reasonable to someone else, might be way out of budget for you.

Hello! I *think* I paid $695 for my DJ (definitely no more than that). I used David Vint, who is based in the Greensburg area but travels. He was hard to get ahold of at times, but we were pleased with him overall. I don't have his contact info with me at work, but can get it to you when I get home, if you're interested. I mostly looked at DJs who were not based in the city- IMO they are generally cheaper.

I think DJ Donna is around $500 or $600 (at least last I knew). I believe she's on the recommended vendor list...

ETA: She is on there. Actually, there are a ton of recs. Here's the list:

My cousin had DJ Donna-I think she was $600.  I had JJ Dellaria who works through Andy Booth-he was $800 and did an awesome job!

Songbook djs--fun guys and great music selection (pretty much anything you want). I think their price is still $500!

I don't know how much either cost, but Chuck Webb and Bill Bara both have great reputations.  Both also have websites, all you need to do is google them.
