Open letter

Dear Twatbag,

You are horrible at communicating.  If I send you an email and you're working on it, let me know.  Radio silence will only prompt me to call you, and then you'll get upset with me, because I picked up this handset and called you.  BUT, this whole issue of a phone call could have been circumvented when upon emailing you, you responded with "I'm working on it and will get back to you".  BUT AGAIN, if you don't respond with an email after 3 attempts, I WILL CALL YOU.

Have a nice day---call me back, bitch

ANGRY O(gre)

Um, no. If you need an answer w/in five minutes, pick up the phone.

I hate it when people expect immediate turnaround on an e-mail.  I prioritize my work, not anyone else.

    Edit:  If you've actually e-mailed 3x, I get the annoyance.  But I just got into this w/someone at work.  Don't e-mail me 3x in 5 minutes, m'kay?
  • I didn't need an answer in 5 minutes V, I needed correspondence in a 5 day window...and when asking for confirmation, I got none.  Explicitly.  This is not my first go-around with this person.

For craps sake, I once asked for a shop drawing and couldn't get one for 3 farking weeks.  It was ridiculous. So ridiculous that I asked for one from a competing company and got it within 2 hours (and ordered the item).  It's not rocket surgery.  I just wish we weren't already under contract with them...ugh.
  • Okay, then I validate your annoyance.  :D
  • I was waiting for someone to yell, "POPOFF!".

    And then I would lose.

I'm probably a bit sensitive. I got into it with Diva very badly last week and he tried to pull in my manager. I ended up taking the issue to another partner. Basically, he wants e-mail responses in like 30 seconds and e-mails me over and asking asking, "Did you read this? Have you done this? Did you get this?" so much that I can't even get any work finished. It drives me INSANE. He's the reason I turned off the "ding" off on my e-mail b/c he can't get all of this thoughts into one e-mail and send it. If I get one from him, I get 10, all w/in five minutes. I've suggested he send a return receipt requested, but "he doesn't want to clutter up his e-mail". I very much believed that my head very nearly blew off at that statement. I had to leave the room and had a headache the rest of the day.
  • Okay, yes...I am not that bad.  I send an email on Friday---mid afternoon, giving info, but asking for info....nothing.  Even no read receipt.  Then Monday, another email, more info---asking for confirmation----she sends an email saying, "got it!" but not response on build time.

So because we have OTHER contractors waiting on her, I have to call...and she acts as if I should just KNOW that she didn't have any information....okay....

    I give days...not minutes.
