July all-inclusive honeymoon under 4K?

We are getting married the first week in July of 2014. We would like to keep our budget under 4,000. My vision is.... warm, sun, beach, and relaxing with drink in my hand We both have never traveled out of the U.S., so we have no idea as what we should do or where to start. Anything, ideas or advice will help!!

The summer is typically low season in the Caribbean so you should be able to find some good rates at the all inclusive resorts.  Mexico tends to be the cheapest.

July is hurricane season, but it is not generally an active month for hurricanes.  Regardless I would highly recommend trip insurance that covers natural disasters and trip delays/cancellation.

We were able to stay at the Palace Resort in Isla Mujeres, Mexico in July 2012 for 7 days for a grand total of 3100. That includes flights, resort, excursions, taxis, etc.

I would highly recommend looking into Mexico, as you can get so much more for your money there, and the resort towns are 100% safe. We stayed at the best room in the resort, whereas somewhere else we would have had a much smaller/ less luxurious room.

We stayed at Catalonia Royal Tulum in Akumal in May. It is adults only and the beach is gorgeous. Flew into Cancun & got a shuttle to the resort, about an hour away, maybe hour & 15.

We flew from way up in Michigan & the flights & hotel ended up being $2600. All inclusive of course. We splurged on deep sea fishing $400/4 hours but still managed to keep all excursions, transportation, tipping, souvenirs etc. under $4k. I loved it and would definitely go back! It might be cheaper in July too, May kind of skirts the low season but I think the solid summer months would be less expensive.

Look at Secrets resorts (Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica) and Excellence resorts (Mexico, Dominican Republic). Both of those are adult only chains and get good reviews.

I just came back from Excellence in Punta Cana & it was GREAT!! I've been out of the country 6 times and it was one of my favorites!!! It was very cheap and amazing!! Check into it!

I just booked our honeymoon at Couples Swept Away in Jamaica.  I've been to the Dominican Republic and I also recommend the resorts suggested by the other women here.  (I've also traveled to Mexico for a girls only trip and had a great time, but won't travel there today.)
