Not Engaged Yet

OOTD

alright y'all, it's Friday and I want to know what you're wearing!

I'm wearing:
a houndstooth long-sleeve cardigan (LINK)
with a pink/salmon scalloped top (LINK - similar)
and a skinny leopard/cheetah belt (LINK)
a dark denim jean skirt (LINK)
black opaque tights and cognac riding boots (LINK - similar).
my hair is wild and free (think of a "bronde" Taylor Swift, with tighter curls)

YOUR TURN.

Re: OOTD

  • I'm wearing:

    Green lace dress from Express
    Black cardigan
    Black tights
    Belt
    Shiny awesome necklace from BF
Heels!! (I almost never wear heels. It's a big deal.)

HAIR IS ACTUALLY DOWN FOR ONCE! I got into a little habit last night when I started playing with it and made a tiny braid on the side. Did it again today just because it's Friday and it's fun.

  • I wear a uniform to work that looks like this:

    image

My cousin and I went on a cruise together and she was a flight attendant and brought her work uniform to wear on the plane ride back home, one drunken night I opened up our closet and was like "wtf why did I bring my work uniform on vacation?"

  • @buddysmom80 - the real question is, did you put it on??

    I'm wearing:

A light pink sweater from Forever 21
    A lavender v-neck t-shirt from Old Navy
A coral infinity scarf from FI's mom
Dark Rock Revival boot cut jeans
    Sperrys

    Jewelry:
Engagement ring and James Avery ring
    Michael Kors watch
    Pearl earings

ETA: My hair is pin straight so I wear it down everyday and it does nothing.
  • I was wearing skinny jeans that, er, accentuated my assets (I LOVE those jeans), but then I dripped hair oil on them. :( So they are enjoying some Oxyclean and a run through the wash.

In the meantime, I'm wearing black yoga pants, a magenta-ish top, and pink socks. Later there will be a lab coat involved. I put my hair in a (very messy) French braid. Today is the day of IDGAF.
  • @buddysmom80 - the real question is, did you put it on??

(Stuck in the box!!!) I was drunk so I almost did, then realized the uniform was not my size!

  • @southernpeach89 - ooooooooh, JEWELRY.  you are FANCY!!  I am just wearing my bling-blingy engagement ring.  I have 7 or 8 (no, seriously!) watches in my purse that I need to get fixed up and cleaned up to wear.  I haven't worn them since before I got married, and maybe even engaged.  whoops.  I "found" them last weekend while H and I painted the house, and decided to give them life again.

@Amapola14 - what kind of hair oil do you use?  I have super curly/long hair.  I've tried Moroccan oil, but it's just "eh".  I have to use a lethal cocktail of products to tame my mane.
  • Im wearing:

    Black long sleeve shirt

WI Badgers Tshirt over the top

    Jeans from AE

Reef Flip Flops (yup Im that girl from WI that wears flops until the snow flies, it is currently 43 degrees)

Hair: Pulled back in a bun with a flower hair clip.

    SMH.  you drunkard.  ;)
  • @CocoBellaF -I have one watch lol! I would like to change my watch since I've been wearing the same one for about 3 years now...I would really like a new Michael Kors one that's Gold since the one I have now is mainly silver. I literally wear the same jewelry though everyday..I just change my earrings and maybe wear a necklace/bracelet with it.
  • Right now I'm about to get in the shower...so I'm wearing.

    A smile.  :)

    Before that, I was wearing:

    Lululemon Pants:  LINK
    Old Navy T-shirt:  LINK
    Nike Sports Bra:  LINK

(I just came from Pure Barre.)
  • @love2shop4shoes - WHOA.

P.S. - how are you liking Pure Barre??
  • I'm wearing:

ON crew-neck sweatshirt in absolute blue (LINK)
ON diva skinny jeans in new rinse, rolled up once (LINK)
    White tank
TOMS stone-washed twill in grey (not available anymore but pic HERE)

My hair is down and looks pretty since I just got it cut the other day :)

  • @CocoBellaF, haha, mine is Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil. I am semi-seriously trying to grow my hair as long as it can get, and a few articles I read said to try using a little bit of hair oil to help with that. It is making me CRAZY having this much hair, though, so I may be giving up on this project soon.

I am sooooo jealous of your hair, btw. I absolutely love curls, and I think they look so fun and gorgeous when they're long. (Says the girl who has never had to maintain it, lol.)

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @Swazzle - I need to see pics of your hair, stat.

@Amapola14 - thank you so much!  my hair is pretty long (to my butt) so it's not low-maintenance by any means, but as I've grown older I've really started to love my hair.  it's the first thing my H noticed about me at the university (he saw me walking up a flight of stairs, and stalked me until he found a way to introduce himself).

also, if you're trying to grow your hair out, PRE-NATALS.  just take them.  trust me.
  • @CocoBellaF, that is such a cute story. :) Thanks for the tip, I will do that! Just have to resist the urge to chop this mop until I can see results.
  • @CocoBellaF - I will try to sneak a pic the next time I go to the ladies room!

  • @Amapola14 - I haven't cut my hair (not even trimmed it) in 15 years.  I use a combination of coconut oil, low heat (only with a diffuser, never curlers or a curling iron or flat iron), and leave-in conditioner.  I condition the heck out of my hair and it still looks healthy...  I'm still trying to figure out how to get pretty second and third day hair, though.

have you heard of Mixed Chicks?  They have an AWESOME line for curly hair.

also, I've been using L'Oreal's new EverCurl (like their EverPure line, no sulfates) and it has drastically changed the texture of my hair.  I LOVE IT.

I can talk hair.  at least, curly/textured hair.
  • I'm a bum and I don't care.

Currently my hair is air-drying...later I'll throw it up into a pony tail.

I'm wearing my black fuzzy slippers because my feet are cold.

I'm wearing an old pair of skinny jeans from the Loft.

I'm wearing this top (also Loft), it's new and I love it and I probably wear it too often.

  • @CocoBellaF, 15 years? That is amazing! It's awesome that you know all these little tools and tricks to take care of your hair - it obviously has paid off.

I know nothing about hair. (Or make-up. Or girly things in general.) I just shampoo and condition and comb it out. And usually it ends up in a ponytail because I can't STAND wearing it down after a while. It's just normal, straight, brown hair. And I'm pretty sure it's all going to fall out by next year anyway due to stress, lol.
  • pre-natals will help combat loss due to stress.  I don't wear any makeup beyond a concealer stick when I have blemishes and eos or Watkin's lip balm.  my face is good enough as it is (most of the time!)

L'Oreal also has some great sulfate-free products (EverSleek, EverPure, EverStrong) for non-curlies...  that is, if you're looking for something new to try!
  • Good to know! I will have to invest in some new stuff soon.
  • Can I co-sign for the love of L'Oreal sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners? @lennonkdc told me about them, I bought them at CVS and my hair has never felt better and my color has not faded (other than obvious regrowth).

This is coming from someone who was a hairstylist for 10 years. This stuff is amazing.

@Stina51286 - I "loved" your post. That is about how my style goes :)

Today I am a little more dressed up than usual because I need to do laundry.

Navy blue cotton slacks that I've had forever
Black camisole under a white cap sleeved blouse from Express (kind like this)
Black and white striped knee high Smart Wool Socks
    My old Keens sneakers
I actually blow dried and straightened my hair today, so it was down, but I always put it into a low pony at work
My glasses, I've been way too lazy for contacts lately -- these! (the red and black ones if it doesn't come up automatically)s
    My wedding band
Necklace and opal stud earrings (both gifts from DH)
And now a lab coat :)
  • @cschiano - when you said you're a little dressed up because you need to do laundry, the first thing I thought was: *head tilt* "she dresses up to do laundry...?"

    SMH.
  • haha! Yes, I wear my finest gowns for laundry day ;)
  • only the best for laundry day!
  • I'm wearing khakis, black closed-toed leather shoes, and a black 3/4 sleeve top with paisley detailed cuffs and collar.
  • @cu97tiger I have those boots in grey and love them! It's 8:25am here. I have a terrible headache, so I'm still in bed with a black tank top and grey leopard print pajama pants.
