I haven't been on netflix in forever, so I don't know what's on ther right now. Being John Malkovich made me think of Sling Blade, of course. If you haven't seen it, it's awesome.

ETA: Sling Blade is Billy Bob Thorton, NOT John Malkovich I don't know what made me make that connection. I am a dumb dumb.

  • This is a great question.  DH is going to be gone for 3 weeks over the next month and a half, so I would also love some suggestions to keep me occupied :)
  • BF had me watch a movie on Netflix the other night called Ip Man. It's a foreign drama that takes place in China and I think is based on a true story. I really liked it.

Quills was interesting. It's about the Marquis de Sade while he was a resident in an institution for the insane...I think during the last several years of his life. Some of it was kind of weird...

We mostly watch a lot of silly type of movies...like Chevy Chase, John Candy...stuff like that.

  • I watch documentaries, but if you haven't invested hours of your life into Ken Burns' films yet, I recommend "The Civil War" (~11 hours) and "Baseball" (~15 hours).
  • I like a good story, so if that comes in the form of a drama, comedy or action film, that works for me.. Not so much into horror movies, though psychological thrillers (Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity) are fun sometimes.

  • The last movie I watched on Netflix was "Movie 43" it's funny, but like a "wtf?" funny.

I watched "Orange is the New Black" and enjoyed it, "Queen of Versailles" is a good documentary, "Paranormal Activity 4" is on there now *adding to queue*, "The Wild and Wonderful Whites" was an awesome documentary.

Last of the Mohicans or Shawshank Redemption for a good story.

I on the other hand like mind numbing movies, especially from the 80's.   So Can't Buy Me Love or Lover Boy if I need a good PD fix. Anything Brat Pack.  I'm also a sucker for Center Stage.  Its awful, but I love it.  It makes me want to blast Jamiroquai through the house.

ETA:  Crap, I totally forgot Mystic Pizza.  It's the 25th Anniversary this month.  Gotta love a big haired Julia Roberts and a teenage Matt Damon!

  • I second @buddysmom80 suggestion of The Wild and Wonderful Whites. Probably one of the best/what the fuck did they just say documentaries I've ever seen. We have just about every dinosaur and space documentary imaginable saved to our instant que right now.

  • Like @buddysmom80 I recently watched Movie 43.  If you want something WTF-worthy and hilarious at the same time, I would recommend watching it.

Deep Blue Sea is a movie that I hate that love. Considering the premise is about adultery, I can't explain why I love this movie so much. Okay, maybe I can.  I love myself some Tom Hiddleston, so I guess that's why.  But I found that the movie was really good and worth watching.
