This summer BF & I went e-ring shopping online and found one in our price range and style tastes.
Saturday morning I was asking him if he liked a more flashy set more than the ring that we had originally agreed upon. He then asked me how much I wanted to know about the ring/proposal. I told him I wasn't sure, but if he wanted to tell me everything besides when and where he was proposing, I would be fine with that.
Sunday morning BF lets out that he had actually bought the ring we liked about a month ago. He was upset because I was iffy on it. It was funny though, because the moment he said he'd bought it. I was like "Well of course, it's our ring, why would I want anything else."
Turns out my crazy ring obsession has been driving him crazy because James Allen put up our ring as the 360 degree view for the setting and he knew I was looking at it.
I feel like knowing we've taken the first step in this whole engagement process really relaxed me. I don't want to pre-plan anymore, I just want us to be happy. Which NEY has constantly reminded me to try and value over the process for the whole of "lurkage."
Side note: BF is amazing. A man this patient and tolerant deserves a medal of some sort... just saying.
Lesson for other pre-planners: Leave your BF alone, you're driving him crazy. May God bless them with the patience of my BF, but please don't try it like I did.
Many good thoughts to the NEY community for allowing me to lurk among you... And much much love my amazing BF!
