Work Laze

I haven't been shut off from work for more than 2-3 days max since 2007 when I was in Ireland and technology did not allow it.  I'm a workaholic and I typically even check in on my vacations.  I was forbidden under threat of my cell dying a quick death by my husband.

So 11 days without work, came back for 2 days then had the weekend......

I am so not motivated..... I think I need vacations more often!

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.

Re: Work Laze

  • I need that vacation!  Where did you go/do?
  • Disney!!! I was like a 5 year old.

  • You should've seen me go through Muppet 3-D (which I hear they are removing).

  • My job requires that each employee take at least 5 consecutive days off without out any technology. It makes me feel so much better about taking vacation. It has become part of our corporate culture, so no one expect a reply when they see an out of office message.

  • Darn, you could have come over.  We would have fed you! ;)  I'm about 15mins from Disney.

My company doesn't care, they encouraged me to. My problem is that they have trouble functioning without me and errors are made. It happened while I was gone.....I have some pretty big messes to clean up that I'm not motivated to address but have to.....  all worth it though.

    Same here.
  • I hear you!  Our honeymoon was our first vacation in 3 years and we were so proud of ourselves that we turned off our phones and just let it be us for a few days.  We checked in at work near the end of the week.  and the best part was coming home to a business still standing with happy employees who kept it running for us.
