December Anniversary Trip from Dallas.. Ideas?

We would like to do something for our anniversary which falls on the 30th December. We have no issues with regards to taking day's off and duration, but we are looking for something low cost but romantic. Drive time does not matter either. Any recommendations?

Have you ever been to New Orleans? H and I live in Dallas, and we go quite frequently. It's fun, there are great restaurants, and TONS to do. It's an 8 hour drive, but we usually fly Southwest to get there.
