Destination wedding dates

Hi,
We are getting married in Santorini, Greece on May 3rd (Saturday), 2014.  We would like take guests on a tour of the island and volcano on May 2nd and for brunch on May 4th.  The ceremony would be on May 3rd.  How should we write the date on our Save The Date card? Should we say
* May 3rd, 2014
* May 2nd - 4th, 2014

Thoughts?

Re: Destination wedding dates

  • I would just put May 3rd.  If it's a destination wedding, your guests will most likely stay more than one day (assuming they live in the US).  In this case, I would also create a wedding website and put this information there.  I normally don't check wedding websites, but with a destination I definitely would.  You can also spread the word by word of mouth to family for those that aren't tech-savvy.

    The "real" date you want people there is your actual wedding day.  The other days are "bonus" days and treats for the guests, but are not mandatory.
  • I would just put the wedding date and list the other info on the website (so include that on the STD). Santorini is AWESOME!!
