Small wedding, not really any bridal party ...

Hi everyone,

So, I have mentioned in previous posts that I am doing a small wedding (around 40 people right now).  Because we aren't inviting a whole lot of people, I am not really going to have a 'bridal party' because it is mostly family, with my two best friends for the last 20 years.  I have 3 children, my FI has none.  This was our thoughts:

My FI's niece and nephew (twins) want to be a part of it, so they will be flower girl / ring bearer.
My son and daughter (11 y.o., also twins) are going to walk, acting as the best man/maid of honor.
My oldest son (will be 17) is going to walk me down the aisle and give me away.

Thoughts?  Will this seem like not enough?  I like the idea because it involves the kids.  I guess I just want to hear that it isn't a crazy idea, haha!

Re: Small wedding, not really any bridal party ...

  • Oh definitely not! I think it's going to be fine with a small wedding. My first wedding, I only had a MOH and my ex had a BM and that was it. Definitely not a crazy idea!
  • Thanks Katie!  The kids are excited and the more I think about it, since it is a small (close friends and family only) wedding I think everyone will think it is sweet.
  • There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to bridal parties any more.  Make it personal, surround yourself with those you love, incorporate the children if you wish, and just enjoy your day.

  • I think your idea is an excellent one...and very sweet & adorable! I didn't have any WP except ring barer and flower girl. You can have or not have as much of a WP as you want :)
