Bridal salon

So i mostly hang out on my month club board, but i just wanted to come over here and recommend my bridal salon to anyone that is looking, and ask a question to those that used them. 

So i ordered my dress from Bella's Bridal in West Bloomingfield.  When i ordered the dress a month and half ago they told me it would be in in July.  I got a phone call yesterday and its in!  3 months early.

My question for those that have used them is i hear that their alterations are expensive.  Any ideas what they charge/what i should be charged for a bustle?  Any seamstress recommendations?  I'm in the ann arbor area.

    Thanks and congrats on your dress arriving so early! Mine was a month late! Designer's fault though, not the bridal shop.

    I ordered my dress from B'Ella in Ann Arbor so if you really want to do alterations through them, I would recommend that location.

    However, my belief is that there are always additional costs when you work through a bridal shop because they are obviously making some of the money.  I would recommend working directly with a seamstress to cut out the middle man.  If you are willing to travel to Livonia, I strongly recommend Bella Alterations (not affiliated with B'Ella Bridal) located next to Laurel Manor.  My sister had her bridal gown altered there, as well as several Knotties on this board.  I would ask for Angela specifically, she's great.

    I'm using Bella like Julie.

    My alterations cost a total of $200.  I'm getting it hemmed up, the traditional bustle put in, and I have to have some serious alterations in the bust, waist and hips (note:  my bridal salon is paying for the waist alts).
