A Few Questions :)

We've been doing this on my month board the past few weeks, and thought I would try it over here. :)  Just a few random questions to learn more about each other.

2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?

3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?

4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?

5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?

6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?

7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?

8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?

9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?" 1 week.  But I knew the minute I met him that he was it.  Crazy I know, but I'd had some interesting past relationships and I knew God was blessing me with this one and it was different.

     2.  How long were you dating before the engagement? 6 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?  I'm the youngest (26) and Fl is the Oldest (26)

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI? Engagement... duh ;)

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?   Between both of us there will be 4 sets of parents.  All in different towns.  So Christmas day will be at my parents house, then Boxing day we'll head south and visit the remaining 3 however it shall happen.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?  No, but Fl is getting 2 neices.  I have 1 with another about to be born any day now!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?  I'm very happy with how our plans are coming along.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI? I was both.  Private elementary school (Christian School) and public high school.  Fl wasn't raised Christian.  He went to Catholic school and normal high school

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  I love how we open gifts.  One at a time around the circle.  Fl likes to tear them all apart at once.  It shall be interesting.

Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?  No.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?  Just over 7 months!!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
Met August 25, 2008--first "outing" November 15--officially dating January 10, 2009--so we knew each other for 4 1/2 months before we were official.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    13 months and 4 days between January 10 and Feb 14, 2010. :)

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
    I'm the oldest with two younger brothers (21 & 16).  FI is the youngest of 6.  One brother (38) and 4 sisters (36, 34, 32, and 26)

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?

FI had a class in one of my classrooms right after I got out of that class.  We usually ran into each other in the hallway.  The week between our first "outing" and him telling me that he liked me, the class he had in that room had been cancelled one day.  He knew I had a free period after my class let out, and when I came out of class, he was sitting on the bench outside the room.  I asked if he had forgotten his class had been cancelled and he said, "No.  I just came to see if you wanted to grab some coffee."

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
If we're close enough to drive/have enough vacation time, we'll go to one home for Thanksgiving and the other for Christmas, and rotate each year.  If we can't come in for Thanksgiving, we'll take a week off at Christmas and go to one home for Christmas Eve & Day, and then spend the other half at the other home.  We'll also rotate this each year.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
4 nephews and 2 nieces!  And they are all absolutely precious!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I would have a sit-down dinner with a live "big band" at a GOREGEOUS hotel near my hometown.  It's the one all the girls I went to school with dreamed about having their weddings at.
    Oh...and I would have a photo booth.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?

I went to public school--but there are only 5,000 people in my entire county, and there is only ONE school K-12 with 730 students.  There were 42 in my graduating class.
FI was homeschooled K-12, but he was in an umbrella academy that met for classes on Thursday and he was very active in the theatre program, so he is well socialized (he's actually more social than I am).

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
My favorite is Christmas Eve when all the "kids" (anyone my age or younger) get in their PJs and my dad reads The Christmas Story from Luke and The Night Before Christmas.  My mom's entire family drives about an hour to our house for dinner and to exchange gifts, so the younger cousins get baths and then we all circle up for storytime.
FI's family goes to Waffle House for breakfast on Christmas Eve and the adults all contribute to a $100 tip for their server.  He doesn't remember a Christmas that they didn't do it.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
    208 days!!!

Hmm...I've been hoping to learn more about some of the ladies on our board! What a cool idea. :)

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
We met through my former pastor, and played basketball together for a year and a half or so before he asked me out (*after* moving away). We were "official" after about 6 weeks of dates. He would drive the three hours each way every weekend just to come see me. :)

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
10 months. FI wanted to propose on our ten month anniversary, but my delayed plane flight meant it happened the next night instead. Which turned out really cool, because it was a) the 4th of July, b) the same date his brother proposed, and c) his parents' anniversary. :)

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I am the oldest of 4, FI is the youngest of 3.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
We had only had one date, and he invited me and a couple of our friends to the lake. We ended up paired together on this huge innertube "waterhog". The others were trying to steer the boat to knock us off, but we held on for a REALLY long time. When they finally sent us flying, we were in the water together just laughing and talking. I remember loving how easy he was to talk to.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
Holidays are really fun with FI's family, and they are amazingly flexible with dates and stuff. My family is further away, and much more stressful. :P This year we're spending the week before Christmas with my family and driving to his family the day after Christmas, and probably for New Year's too. (I think FI will likely push for less holiday time with my family once we're married, which I'm actually pretty ok with.) I'm hoping we'll start our own traditions, and someday have family come to us for holidays. :)

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
Yes - his brother has two ADORABLE little boys, and his sister also has a cute little one year old boy, and another baby on the way. And FI has two cousins (aged 3 and 5) who are sort of like another set of nephews.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I'd pay for the attire and flights/drives/hotel rooms for our bridesmaids and groomsmen so they didn't have to. But I think I'd keep mostly everything else the same. (I was going to say I'd invite more people, but they wouldn't fit in the church, and I want to get married inside my church. :))

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
Public school for me, homeschool for FI. We'll be homeschooling our kids someday.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
Our holiday jello mold. It's yummy! And the fact that we usually open some of the presents on Christmas Eve, and some on Christmas Day.
FI's family plays lots of games - I had to work Christmas Day last year and heard all about the fun activities I was missing...but not this year!!! :D

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
Two months tomorrow until the wedding. I'm so excited!

Emily, fabulous idea!!! :) I love when they're on our month board too!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
We met on facebook actually (I believe I mentioned in before on this board) and we talked a few times over 2 weeks before we met face to face. We dated for 3 weeks before we made it official.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
Just about a year and 4 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I am the middle child (two brothers...daddy's princess!!), FI is 3rd of 4 kids, the youngest boy.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
There are so many, but one that really stands out for me was actually a very serious moment. We had been together less than 3 months when I got a call from my dad telling me he'd been diagnosed with cancer. We were on vacation with some friends from church and they had no idea what was going on, just chatting away as we're driving, but FI knew immediately (we'd been waiting for test results) and he grabbed my hand and held it as tight as he could while he was driving and just the way he knew exactly what I needed in that moment was amazing. As soon as we were by ourselves he enveloped me in a huge hug and said "Let's pray." Knowing that was his first instinct just solidified what I knew of him being the Godly leader of our relationship.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
Until we move back up north Thanksgiving will be spent just the two of us. While we're living in Florida, Christmas will probably be flying up and spending time with each. Once we live up north, we may just switch around when we celebrate (whether switching off years or days or just visiting over our long teacher holiday!!)

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
Yes, FI has an adorable little niece who is the light of his entire family's life (extended and all) as the first grandchild. She is perhaps the cutest little toddler ever.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I'd be inviting more people. I have invited everyone I really want to be there, but there are some on a B list and of course we have our concerns over what the numbers will end up being...only because of finances though because our location will hold whatever we need. I'd probably also had a coordinator for the long haul, and I'd pick everything out but have it professionally done.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
We both went to public school.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
Christmas Eve service as a family and cinnamon buns in the shape of a Christmas tree with green icing and sprinkles Christmas morning!!! I'm excited about FI's big family Christmas day dinner. We went last year and we're talking ENTIRE family...sooooooo many people. Sad I'll be missing it this year!

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?

Just hit the 7 month mark 3 days ago!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
    1 1/2 years

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    1 year 7 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I'm the oldest in my family, and the only girl in a family of 6 kids!
FI is #3 out of 4 kids

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
The first time we went on an official date, he took me to a really fancy restaurant. :)

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
We've done pretty well so far. Our families live near each other, so we either go to both, or our families get together.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
I'm getting 3 nieces and 1 nephew, and a new niece or nephew from his side.
All my bros are too young to have any kids! haha

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I would have an entire sitdown catered dinner vs. a cocktail reception. I would hire a live 'big band' to play, pay for BP's dresses and tuxes, and change my venue to the nicer place we can't afford! And instead of making decorations with fake flowers, I would have fresh. :)

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
I was homeschooled from 4th grade on. FI was homeschooled from kindergarten on

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
My fav tradition is the buche de noelle - the traditional yule log cake. That and using our shoes instead of stockings, and putting our presents out Christmas eve one by one, so you have no idea how many presents will be there till you wake up and see the tree!
FI's family doesn't do any traditions, besides getting together...

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
    Wedding will be September 10, 2011 - 9/10/11 Laughing

    We're getting married on July 16 2011 and I think it's 243 days away...  or 8 months and 1 day ... :-)

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
2 months. It was quick, but2 weeks after we met I left for Thailand for a month and the second I left we knew we never wanted to be that far away again.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    8 months :]

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I'm number 3 of six, but only 1 is biological, so I only grew up in the same house as 1 older brother. FI is an only child.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
4 months after we started dating we went to Ohio with my parents on a family trip. Everyone kept asking when were going to be getting married, because they knew it would happen. We had no plans of that at all, but I think it's what got him thinking about it.. He proposed 4 months later.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
Our parents live in the same city, so we always split the day in half. Our families are really great about it, so they plan around eachother. One will do an early dinner, one at normal dinner time. It works out perfectly.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
Nope, he's an only child. But he's getting one on my side. My biological brother is expecting a son exactly one month before the wedding!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
We'd be getting married at Castle Farms in Charleviox, MI

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
Public all my life, he went to private school from preschool until 6th grade, then started 7th grade in public school.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
We make gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve and eat them on New Years Eve :] We also cut down out Christmas tree the Satruday after Thanksgiving and spend the whole day decorating it while drinking egg nog and listening to Christmas music. His family doesn't have any Christmas traditions, which is kind of disappointing. But he's excited to be a part of ours!

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
It's been 8 months and we have 6 months and one week left!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
We knew who the other one was for about 6 months, but once we started talking, we were a couple within a few weeks.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    Two years

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
    We're both the oldest.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
The night he proposed. He planned everything perfectly.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
No idea, we'll figure it out as it comes along, and as our siblings get married, the traditions will just keep changing.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
    Nope

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
Instead of a cocktail reception, we'd do an elaborate multi-course meal (at least 8 courses) with wine pairing. That's about the only upgrade...I've pretty much been able to have my dream wedding as it is.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
I was public schooled; he went to private until high school, then switched to public.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
Getting up super early, taking a good 3ish hours to open gifts, then having a big, long breakfast together.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
It'll be here in less than two months!

[QUOTE] 4.

My dad is great now! It was prostate cancer, which is one of the most treatable cancers and they caught it early. So they removed the entire prostate and on his follow up exam he was cleared. I didn't realize how curable it was until he had his follow up though. FI was amazing through it all :) I love knowing that I have a man like that in the good and bad times to come, and hope I can be even half of what he was for me!!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"   2 weeks of chatting online; once we met in person we both knew and took ourselves "off the market."

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?  2 years

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?  I am the youngest of 3 and he is the oldest of 3

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?  This last weekend we went to a Family Life Today- Weekend to Remember Conference as a pre-married couple.  Overall the conference was great and at the very end they give the married folks a chance to renew their vows and all 750 people were holding hands and reciting their vows.  We quickly agreed to not speak the vows ourselves but just to be looking at each other and hearing those words was so exciting and made us both so happy for our wedding to come in March.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?  This year we are having Thanksgiving at my Mom's and Christmas at his folks.  Each year we have played it by ear since our families live a few hours away and FI and live 2 1/2 hours apart until the wedding.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?  A couple of teenage neices but I haven't met them yet since they live across the country.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?  I would still keep it small but would like to be able to pay for my out of town relatives to fly in and take the financial burden off of them.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?  We were both public schooled.  I went to a larger school with a graduating class of 400; he went to a country school with a class of 20.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?  As kids we would read the Night Before Christmas and the Nativity Story outloud on Christmas Eve; I would love to have our kids do that some day.  His Mom just does a ton of home cooking with great Norwegian food like lefse that I didn't grow up with but really enjoy.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?  A little over 4 months

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?": A few weeks, we were very excited about each other and wanted to make it an official relationship right away because we had such a great connection!

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?: 2 years

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?: I'm the oldest of 3 and the only girl in my generation on either side of the family, we are full of boys!

DH/FI?: He is the oldest of 2, with a younger brother.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?: Honestly I just love when we have time alone cuddling and relaxing.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?: It's going to be quite an adjustment to change around where I go for Christmas, but it will be ok.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?: Nope, the FI's brother is only 19 or something, so no kids yet!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?: I would definitely want a destination wedding! Somewhere on a private beach, which sounds really cliche but it's always been my dream. Vows next to the shore, *sigh*... Go figure I'm actually gonna get married in January with snow everywhere! Lol.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled? : I went to public school, through undergrad and now my law school is through a private university.

What about DH/FI?: He also went to public school throughout.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?: After both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, my family always picks a game to play around the dining room table and it usually ends up getting really goofy.

Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?: Well it won't be with his family exactly, but since he is from the country, he is used to going out in his backyard (pretty much a field and some woods) and cutting down his own Christmas Tree. I've never had a real tree before, so I'm really excited for us to go out and cut a tree down in his woods back home.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?: We are getting married in January 2012 so about a year and a month and a half left!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"  We started dating just two weeks after meeting (never thought it would happen that fast).

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?  7 months and 10 days

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?  I'm right in the middle of my 2 brothers.  DH is the youngest of SEVEN, and their order is girl, girl, girl, boy, boy, boy, boy!

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?  Can't choose just one, but here are a couple: We started dating on July 4th, so there were fireworks and there were "fireworks."  ;-)  One other would be the wedding night!

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?  Most of our immediate family lives in the area, so we'll just see how it goes this first year as a married couple.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?  Seeing as he is the youngest of 7 and is almost 4 years older than me, I'm gaining not only nieces and nephews, but great-nieces and -nephews as well!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?  I probably would have chosen a larger venue and invited more people--and also had more food!

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?  I went to Christian school and DH went to public school.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?  My brothers, sis-in-law and I started a new tradition a couple years ago that we all hope to continue: camping the weekend before Christmas while my older brother is home for Christmas (I live in FL, so weather usually isn't an issue that time of year).  Neither of our families really have any set traditions for the actual day/eve, though.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?  Just got married on Oct. 23rd, so 3 weeks and 3 days!  Woo-hoo!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
well we met in high school about 3 years before we went on our first date. Then we went on several dates and it was a little over a month before we were official.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    a year and 7 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
we're both the oldest. we each have one little brother.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
well, to start this, you should know that FI made out with my BFF in high school. years before he and I went out. So I would bring that up a lot, sort of jokingly accusing him. One time, I spilled something and he was making fun of me so I said, "well, you kissed Tess!" He replied, "and I liked it!"
That may seem weird, but that's how I knew I was going to marry him someday.
And, yes, Tess is my MOH.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
not sure yet. We're going to move out of state. We'll probably alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas with each family.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
Sadly, no. But he has some pretty adorable second cousins.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I'd have those $200 shoes. and I'd pay for all of our out of town guests to be there. And the bridesmaid dresses.
But I wouldn't change my venues or anything.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
    both public school.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
We go to my grandparents house and do presents there after opening our gifts at home. His family goes to visit relatives every year.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
We have about  7 months to go.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
I have seriously typed out about 10 different memories and erase them because they are all so special.  Overall I think the best memories I have are the memories we spend with out families.  Out on the lake with his family and playing jungle gym with my niece and nephews.
    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc? I am willing.  being the baby of the family I see how it works with my siblings and my parents know whats ahead.  His parents are not going to like it for a while.  but it will be ok!

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?  A different location for the reception venue.  It over looks our college football stadium.  FI would DIE to have it there and it would be a very scenic location.  but alas its ridiculously priced.

    public for both of us!
    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
Well, I had seen him and talked in the same group of people at meetings at work, but not a one-on-one conversation for probably about a month and a half or so. From our first lengthy one-on-one conversation until our "official" boyfriend-girlfriend, probably only about 2 weeks.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
    1 year and 8 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I am the oldest (younger bro is 17) and my fiance is the youngest (2 older sisters).

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
Too many to name just one! Our engagement is one for sure. Also, when we were reading The Purpose Driven Life for our new members class at our new church and we began discussing it and praying together more and really living our lives for God. That was pretty great.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
Well, our parents live about 45 minutes or so apart, so I assume we will just be making time for both.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
Yep! He has one nephew and one niece right now.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
I would hire a wedding planner. Also, I would have a photo booth and a candy bar!

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
    Both public!

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
We always go back to my parents' on Christmas Eve after church and spend time together while listening to Christmas music. Also, we watch "A Christmas Story" because it's on 24 hours on Christmas Eve/Day. Christmas morning, we always eat "Christmas Rolls" (which are just Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls). I also love singing "Silent Night" at church on Christmas Eve while everyone holds a lighted candle and the lights are turned out. Awesome feeling.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
Roughly 7 months and 3 weeks!

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?"
I knew who he was, but I ignored him for two years, too caught up in my own world to notice the guy who was/is really intrigued with me. We started talking at an ACF (Adventist Christian Fellowship) went for a motorcycle ride a week later on Saturday, and were dating by Thursday.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement?
We dated just over 3 months before he proposed. However, we knew we were going to marry after about a month. God really lead us together and I thank Him everyday for bringing my FI into my life.

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI?
I am the eldest of 3. FI is the eldest and has an adopted sister.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI?
Gah, this is a hard one, I have a lot of awesome memories. My favorite however probably is the first time we cooked together. We both LOVE sushi, and had always wanted to try making it. We spent the afternoon trying to make vegetarian sushi and once we were finished we curled up on the couch and watched British comedy. It was totally relaxed and us. I still love doing it with him when we have time.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc?
For the holidays it is pretty simple. My family is really big on Thanksgiving, and doesn't do much for Christmas. His family is the opposite. When we are able to travel we will spend Thanksgiving with my family and Christmas with his mother. That way both mothers are happy, and we are too.

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side?
I am gaining two addorable nieces. One is 2 and the other was born 4th of July weekend this summer.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different?
If money was no object the only thing I would change about my wedding day would be that no one was stressed. My family and FI wouldn't be worried about finances and I would be much happier.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI?
I was homeschooled for all but 8th grade and my Junior and Senior years of High School . For high school, I went to a private christian boarding/day school. The FI went through private education his whole life including college. We both went to the same boarding/day academy, but graduated about 8 years apart.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in?
My family isn't as big into Christmas, but my favorite tradition is the day we do Christmas at my Grandpa's. We have pizza and desert while watching the National Lampoon Family Christmas. Afterwards we open gifts.
The FI and his family always do a picnic on Christmas Eve. I am looking forward to experiencing this with them.
    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding?
Our Wedding is Dec. 19, so there are 32 days left. (I am feeling the stress :)  )

    1.  How long did you know your DH or FI before you were "official?" I tried to keep him at bay for a month or two because I had just gotten out of a really bad relationship a few months before we met. I'd say it took about 2 months before I let my guard down and we became an official couple.

    2.  How long were you dating before the engagement? 8 months

    3.  In your family, are you the oldest, middle, youngest, only?  DH/FI? I'm the oldest of 2, and he's the youngest of 2.

    4.  What's your favorite memory of you and DH or FI? The night we were at a Yankee game and it just felt so real and amazing.

    5.  How will/are you handling the holidays with new traditions, places to be, etc? We always spent the holidays together even when we were dating and engaged. We would try to hit up both families or swap which holiday we spent with which side. It always worked out perfectly and sometimes we got to eat yummy food twice!

    6.  Did you/will you gain any nieces/nephews from DH or FI's side? Nope, my brother and his sister aren't married yet.

    7.  If money was absolutely NO object, how would your wedding day be different? Everything was perfect, I probably would have just added on some extras.

    8. Were you public, private, or homeschooled?  What about DH/FI? I went to private school except for 7th and 8th where I went to public. DH went to public his whole life and so will our kids.

    9.  What is your favorite Christmas tradition from your family?  Does DH/FI have a tradition you're excited about participating in? It's silly but where we put the Christmas tree. My brother and I have an on-going joke/argument with our parents about how they decided to switch where it goes several years ago and to us it's just no longer "Christmas" lol. DH loves all the Christmas baking I do and the Christmas specials I make us watch.

    10.  How long until/has it been since your wedding? Almost 5 months since our wedding.
