MOH question..

So, I just recently got engaged *yay* and now I am trying to figure out my maid of honor, but I have am having a problem because I have a sister, who chose me as her maid of honor when she got married, and i have a sister in law who wanted to choose me as her maid of honor, but felt that she -had- to pick her little sister because she is blood related. I am not particularly close to my sister because she is like 7 years older than me and we do not have much in common, so I am looking more to pick my sister in law..but is it true that i should pick my sister because she is blood related? I just don't want to hurt anyones feeling

If this decision is difficult, I see no reason why you can't have both with the MOH title. Or, you could just not have a MOH at all and just give everyone the title of BM. Like a pp said, they will participate just the same in your wedding.

why not have both of them? my sister is 12 years older than me and she is my MOH. call me old fashioned but i picked her before anyone else because she knows me the best and has been there for me the longest.

do you need a MOH? can they both be BMs? i went to my SIL's wedding and she has 2 very close friends and neither of them was MOH. she had both as equal footing as BMs. as well my FI is a GMs at a wedding this summer and the groom has no best man. he has 4 really close friends and they are all GMs. though he asked my FI to make the speech at the reception. mainly because he's just a good speaker.
