Are you f*cking kidding me??? (WR!)

Re: Are you f*cking kidding me??? (WR!)

• Yeah, I would too. I'd feel like it needs to be part of a larger gift bag type thing. Like, measuring cups, a few utensils for making cookies or something and a pan.
• Goodnight Sucrets! Tomorrow will be a better day (even though your cousin/aunt will still be crazy). :)

That could happen, but it's just easier for your body to support the pregnancy if there's a little extra weight. The baby burns something like an extra 300 calories a day. If you're starving your body is going to protect itself before it'll let you get knocked up, most of the time. Along the same lines is the reason people who are slightly overweight have longer lifespans. When they get sick, they're better able to handle it because they have some backup and die less... that's the theory for now anyway.

Yeah... if you're at a normal BMI it shouldn't be a problem. I thought it was really interesting when I learned that because my aunt has always been unnaturally skinny and went through years of fertility treatments and was never able to conceive. Maybe she would have had better luck if she had just eaten a damn hamburger once in a while. Ugh.

• Yea, you're worrying me haha Infertility is a huge fear of mine and my mom and I both naturally thin. I don't think I'm too thin though...
• I want that crock pot!

But I actually cook...and eat.

Maybe you can register for a $400 stroller and $300 breast pump and see if she buys them for you?

Now you're talking! Make it a $800 stoller though.
sarah - you bring up another good point. This cousin also had a HUGE eparty with her last fiance, complete with catered food, servers, and bartenders. Yes, it was at her house, but still. And she wore a fancy prom looking dress to it. Kinda pissed that I gave her $100 back then. I did send a nice card when she got engaged this time, though. www.williams-sonoma.com/products_g/all-clad-deluxe-slow-cooker-with-aluminum-insert/?pkey=x |4|1||4|All-Clad%20Deluxe%20Slow%20Cooker||0&cm_src=SCH" target="_blank">Slow Cooker Link

Hahaha, I knew it was this one you were talking about ;) It is really cool, though. You can take the insert out to braise meat on the stove before you slow cook it.

But I agree that it's pretty ridiculous for them to be registering at this stage of their life.

My mom is teeny tiny and had a bunch of babies. I think the fact that you are naturally skinny as opposed to unnaturally will make a difference.
• Also, this thread turned into babies.

Oh but why settle for that when you can get one of those buggybabyboo things or whatever it's called that all the celebrities use. The ones that look like the old-fashioned strollers out of Gone With the Wind or something. I think Madonna had one and they start around $2k.

• I want All Clad cookware.

I bought the full set ($750) for my niece when she got married in 1996.

M has the entire set from wedding gifts.

I'm jealouse of my own daughter and neice because all I have is Caphalon that was bought in the 90s sometime.

I guess it is time for me to get married again or I will never be happy!
• Hahaha a bugaboo is about $600-$800 a Silvercross however will get you into the thousands.
kim- yea, hopefully its the unnaturally thing. I'm not near as thin as I had been though, so that is good.
• A bugaboo chameleon (sp?) is about $900, and NO, I didn't buy it for M. She guilted her dad into buying it. She's smart like that.

A Silver Cross pram was about that when M was born. Prams a usually just for the city.
• Oot- I fully plan on getting a bugaboo or bubmleride. Not sure how, but I will. I think I can con mom into it :P
If I lived in the city I would absolutely want a pram, probably not a Silvecross though. I'd probably just get a bassinet attachment for a bugaboo
• The bassinet comes with the Chameleon but there are no straps to fasten the baby in, unlike the stoller part.

I found this out when M called me hysterical because the carriage tipped and dropped her 5 week old baby onto the street in Boston!

Her dad told bugaboo about the tipping problem and now there are warnings about weighting them properly.

Just in time for her next one ;)
• I plan on being flithy rich by the time baby number 1 comes around so hopefully I will have no problem getting my stroller.

I forget, she is pregnant now?
• I'd almost be talked into having another baby if I could use the vintage pram that DH's family passes around for newborns. It's seriously awesome.
• $400 suggested retail, $300 is their current price. YOW!
• And I thought I felt guilty for resigster for $30 pillows....

Jesus. $300 crock pot? For that price it should cook, clean itself AND the rest of the dishes, and give the world's best orgasm.

• I've seen registries with things you would expect to be expensive, like a new sofa or bed mattress, but never a crock pot. Good God, who has that kind of money to throw away? I don't know what a Dyson is, so can't comment on that one.

We aren't even doing a registry. If we did it would consist of car parts that we desperately need to fix our sh!tty trucks--and THAT would certainly be expensive! We just want money, we have all the material items we need.

Bec, but did you even really give birth? I mean, I knew cew didn't cause her baby came out of her eye.

They might not pass it on to your fake born baby.
• Oh I gave birth, real birth, TWICE! This vag is faaaaar from pristine.

I wonder if they'd just let me borrow the pram for my 8yr old. I'm not feeling the whole birth thing again. :)
In Response to Re: Are you f*cking kidding me??? (WR!) : No idea...but someone already bought both for them! I don't blame anyone for wanting a Dyson, but usually it's the most expensive thing people put on their registries, you know?
Posted by sucrets4
I'm late to the party, but we put the Dyson on our registry as a joke and assumed we wouldn't get it because it was so expensive. My sister, her husband, and my other sister chipped in and got it for us, but we did not expect it and it was by FAR the most expensive thing on our registry!
