AW something of yours/about yourself!

Re: AW something of yours/about yourself!

  • September, be sure to have your dryer vent/air duct thing to the outside cleaned out too. If it has a lot of build up that really slows down the drying process.

[QUOTE]I don't have pictures of them, but can I AW the new heater and AC unit we got installed several weeks ago? The heater has a humidifier attached to it. The units they replaced were original to the house - built in 19-friggin-69. Fish, congrats on the loss, and I love the washer-dryer! Nebb, congrats on the job! Was it the one you were talking about yesterday, or yesterday afternoon's interview?

Thanks, it was the one I was waiting to hear back on, I actually wasnt totally impressed with the place I interviewed with yesterday and I actually dont think I did very well on it! I guess that doesnt matter now though!

This occurred to me about a month ago and I had one of those EUREKA! moments. I got it all cleaned out, got my neighbour (a duct cleaner guy) to check it all out, and then dried a load of about 8 towels. 85 minutes later, they were dry. I was so disappointed that I almost cried. I love the new waRsher and dryer, but they were expensive. We're on the heels of a kitchen reno, so I really didn't want to drop the extra $$ right away. :o\
  • Congrats Fische on the weight loss! I wish I had more motivation in that department. :P

Poli, I've been trying to make tissue paper pomanders and for all I'm good at crafts I am terrible at this! Yours look fantastic!

I would AW one of my paintings but I don't have them saved on my work computer. :(

  • I am going to AW that we paid off 90% of our wedding yesterday. Felt awesome! I will be AWing my invites in the next few days so stayed tuned!

  • Fischy and Nebb that is SO awesome!! Congrats!!

My only AW is that I hit 35 pounds lost and can finally fit comfortably into a size 12 again (except for an Express size twelve, which apparently is a child's size 12 because it won't even go over my ass. F*ckers.)

Thats awesome!! I cant wait until I fit into a size 12 again, I have my favourite jeans (which were a 12) in my closet and I keep trying them on but they are WAY too tight still.
  • NICE WORK, NUGGS!! That's awesome!

  • Great work all you weight loss ladies. I hope to be getting into those numbers soon. I'm back into my 12's comfortably again. But I have a pair of jeans that I LOVE that I'm just not quite into yet. It was nice pulling out my summer clothes this week and knowing I'll be able to fit them. Come on more weight loss.
  • I kind of love everything that is cupcake, as lame as it may be, so the other day I found this bank at Urban Outfitters. I emailed the link to FI and said I WAAAAANT THIS!

A few days later, guess what arrived at my doorstep? :) I love little silly surprises.

  • That piggy bank is adorable Kate, I kind of want to get it for my flower girl, she'd love it.

The only thing that sucks for me about losing a lot of weight is that my mom is somehow convinced that I'm still a size 16, and everytime we go shopping she comments on how "that probably won't fit" because it's a 12. And my grandma still keeps giving me clothing she gets at Target in XL.

Isnt that awesome! I pulled out all my summer stuff a few weeks ago and did a fashion show for my husband. There were only TWO pairs that didnt fit and they were from the first year I lived with him, at my smallest. Nothing makes you feel better than fitting into (atleast most) ofyour skinny clothes.
  • Great job, Nugget!

  • Nebb huge congrats on the job! And on the weight loss - whenever you chime in on a fitness thread I always listen up, because I've seen pics and you KNOW what you're talking about!

    I have nothing to AW.

No kidding, I kind of want to hire Nebb as my personal trainer, and Salt and Moose as my life coachs, and then Fischy as my therapist, Sascha and Alix as my personal shoppers, and Bec as my interior decorator. I'd be the most together woman in the entire world.

Grats to the weight loss league! I'm hoping to join up on that bandwagon soon.

AW: H and I are going to spend our minimoon having a spa weekend at The M Resort just outside of Vegas. Can't wait --

  • Thanks, bubba! These are actually ridiculously easy to make, and they're pretty sturdy. I've heard that making the Martha Stewart-style tissue ones are really hard to fluff. These are fun :)
  • Imp, the M hotel is supposed to be really nice.

Poli, if I promise to be your friend will you make me some of your fantabulous pomanders because I'm too inept (read: lazy) to do them myself? Ktnx!

  • I was thinking about selling them on etsy, nugget! I'm going to wait and see if I'm sick of them after making 12, though.

Really though, you'd be surprised at how quickly and easily you can make them!
  • OMFG Salt I want a SmartCar SO BAD. SO. BAD. How is it??

  • I'm going to AW that I'm starting an ironman today!

There's this program at my gym that H and I are doing: We have from April 15 - May 15 to complete an Ironman. The gym keeps track of everyone's miles and updates everything on a big board in the main cardio room. You get a great little prize pack for finishing. In short, I have 30 days to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26 miles... yikes!
    image
  • SP, that's totally cool! Do you get something if you complete it (besides, you know, fitness, health, and the right to be smug)?
  • Yup, we get a little fun tote filled with gym things - stainless steel water bottle, beach towel, speedo goggles and a bunch of free things from local businesses. INCLUDING an hour massage! I'm mainly excited about the water bottle since all of mine are really cheap crappy ones... I know, I'm a nerd!

No kidding... could you even imagine doing all that back to back to back? I have a friend who has been training for over a year. It's really intense, she works out all the time and never has an excuse for not working out - even if it means running at 3:00 a.m.!

  • Rock thefuck on with the weight loss and ironman competitions, girls!

I don't have anything really AW-worthy, other than the buttload we got back on taxes when DH finally filed today! We thought we would owe at least what we got back. I'm so glad we overestimated last year instead of underestimated! :)
