Yeah, yeah, yeah... I am finally getting my license changed.

Question is... do I need to bring money? I've been searching the site up and down and I can't find an answer.

The DMV in Norristown only takes check or money order!

I had to leave and go back bc I only had cash :-P

If I'm reading correctly, that would be a dup license, so $13.50?

Mine was 11... they only took check or money order.

Just bring an extra blank check to be safe in that case. also - Yay! and you are going to the SS office when? Or did you already do that part? I forget, it's been SO long that I can't remember..... ahem.

yes it was 13.50 I'm pretty sure

there were so many people at the dmv (on a weekday) that I actually made it back to my apt, grabbed my check book and made it back there before my number was called haha

I kept my old license - they just punch a hole in it so people know it's not valid. I actually find it useful to have in my wallet in case I am trying to do something involving my maiden name, so they believe me. (ie - my Macys card is still in my maiden name, so I bring that with me as proof that it's my card).

I just changed over from DE to PA and not only did I keep my old DE license w/a hole in it, but they gave me a temp card (that I also kept) and mailed the real license in the mail. I think they do an identity verification before they'll issue it. Lucky me.

You may not get the extra temp card if you already have a PA license. But, now I have three licenses in my purse... all in my married name though.

I keep the one with a hole in it in my wallet too. I tried to use my debit card at AC Moore and they asked for ID. Well, my debit card is in my maiden name b/c it renews in March and will automatically switch to my new name so I am to lazy to bother getting a new one. The woman looked at me strange when my license didn't match. Fortunately, I had the old license and explained the situation. I was still able to buy my new Christmas decorations
