Why did I choose a June wedding?

Why did I choose a June wedding? It is so hot in Florida in June with yucky humidity. Oh well!

Re: Why did I choose a June wedding?

  • Is it an outdoor wedding?  If so, I'd supply fans for your guests and keep your ceremony super short!
  • I chose June too! I'm in NH though so I'm worried about rain. I rained last year on our pre-wedding day! Hopefully it doesn't follow the same pattern!
    What's your day? I'm the 8th

  • I chose June too and I'm getting the same anxiety but for rain instead! But I'm from Seattle so I guess there's a good chance of rain any month.

Good weather vibes to you! (and scrpio :D)

  • Please don't have an outdoor wedding in Florida in June. Please. Have it somewhere with A/C.

  • I'm outdoor in July, and I'm giving my guests 3 essentials:
    -Fans
    -Bottled Water
    -A short ceremony.

If I were a guest at your wedding I would *love* you for this! I was in an outdoor July wedding last year. It was 91 degrees & humid, humid, humid. The B&G provided no fans or water for their guests, & the ceremony was anything but short. All the GMs were in full suits too so they were drenched by the end. Yuck.

Wow, that blows my mind! How could anyone not take that into consideration?

I was having a June wedding, but we had to change the date. My FI and his GM were/are wearing shorts...
  • I am having a June 2 in RI...we have an outdoor ceremony and booked a shelter just in case of rain
  • @scripo- June 21st
@vicki- Indoor on a cruise- but I am nervous about the humidity for outside photos

    Thanks for sharing everyone!
  • June in San Diego! Outdoor ceremony, indoor reception. Ceremony will be short. It rarely rains here but I'm worried about "June Gloom." We'll be on a cliff right next to the ocean so it could get a little chilly/breezy.

  • I am also getting married in June. It'll be in MN so who knows.. it could be snowing!
  • I'm doing June in North Carolina. A few of the venues I've looked at have said that I don't have to decide if I'm having the ceremony inside or outside until a day or two ahead of time. So I can have it outside if the weather is going to cooperate, or have it inside if Mother Nature is going to be mean to me!
  • I'm June 24th in Tennessee.  At first I was worried about rain/storms, but with how warm it is now I'm worried about it being very hot.  We're having an outdoor ceremony and I don't want people to be miserable.

  • My grandmothers from both sides always told me that I should be a June bride, however with the wedding taking place in florida and I've always wanted an outdoor wedding, I just don't see it happening. On the knot I moved the date to November because it is a possibility. Our wedding won't be happening for about 2-3 years so I am in no rush for the date. I am just concerned about the weather. November is hit and miss..usually warm, or cool. June is either HOT or rainy.

He stole my heart, so I'm stealing his last name.
  • I'm planning a June 1st, 2013 wedding in Florida because of my FI's school schedule.  If we do it in fall or spring we won't be able to have a honeymoon (and he'll possibly be working against a project or paper deadline over our wedding weekend!). Has anyone been to a wedding in a tent with A/C?  I'm wondering how well they work...
  • I'm a June bride too. I had a couple reasons, one one June 13th the day we originally wanted would have been my FI and I's one year anniverery(and we have had a whirlwind romance.) also because of one of my favorite movie growing up called seven brides for seven brothers. Where there is a song about june brides always being a bride.

My worry is the weather also, the time we picked is ugly in oregon for our first ceremony(lots of brown, noooo green) and its very wet in minnesota(where we are having our affirmation of ceremony.)
