Sad :(

Hi girls, just asking for you T&Ps... I know it sounds silly to be SO worked up, but I am devastated because my little minpin Holmie had a seizure tonight. We took him to the vet and we are waiting for the results of his blood work tomorrow. He seems to be ok as of right now (he even tried to steal a french fry at dinner!) but I am just so worked up. If you can send knottie vibes his blood work comes out ok that would be much appreciated :)

ps- I was stranded at work when I heard the news about my little Holmie since Mike dropped me off today (he often drives me in the moring so we can spend time together) and our own knottie Shazzie rescued me and drove me to the vet to meet them. I am eternally grateful for such amazing knottie friendships :)

Hang in there.  Sometimes dogs and cats have seizures for no reason and are just fine afterwards.

Me and my five pack send our thoughts and hugs.

THANK YOU ALL! :) It is amazing to me (and I don't know why, bc you are all such dolls) that I have constant love and support! From all your little babies I welcome the licks and snuggles and from all you big ladies I welcome the good vibes! Thank you so much for thinking of my little family.

Holmie is doing well right now and all signs point to good. I will follow up as soon as I know anything more!

Having been there with sick pets in the past, I can totally relate.  Sending good vibes your way.  Here's hoping that this was just a one off incident and that your little guy is ok.

Sending major knottie vibes and a big hug!  I hope he's ok.

As an aside, a similar thing happened to my old roommates dog (an Australian shepherd).  It turned out he has doggie epilepsy, and he needs to take meds every day.  A little expensive, but he's a happy, kind of goofy dog!

I am sorry you had this scary incident!  After I had my dog 1 month, she had a seizure. It was so scary and I didn't know what to do.  It's hearbreaking to watch.  Now, 13 years later, we're still having seizures about once a month. Other than that, she's a happy and healthy girl!  She knows when she's going to have a seizure and wants to stay close to me.  When she starts to seizure, I bring her somewhere quiet and comfy and I hold her best I can and comfort her.  If I rub the back of her neck, it seems to help.  The seizure goes thru stages and at the end she's like a wet noodle.  So, after I let her rest, I usually carry her outside cuz she needs to relieve herself. She's wobbly for a while, but then she usually bounces back by the next day.
I hope your fur baby is fine and doesn't have any more siezures, but if she does, there's medication for it.

Oh no! Sending prayers from us and little Pavel. I hope he is ok!

I do know from working as a vet tech, that sometimes there is no answer to why seizures happen. It's frustraiting and scary as an owner, especially not to get answers. But as a PP said there could an underlying condition that can be corrected with medication. It's really good that Holmie is acting like himself and trying to steal a french fry. I hope it was just a one time thing.

    Keep us updated!

Awww the poor little thing.  FI had to give mouth to mouth to our last Yorkie while on the way to the vet.  He choked on a potato that I dropped while cooking.  He lost almost all of his teeth from lack of oxygen  but came out A-ok....
