One of my bridesmaids is 13, Need gift ideas!!

My fiance's sister is 13 and we're having her be part of the wedding party, she'll be a bridesmaid and not a junior..but I'm not sure what to get her for her BM gift. Any ideas?? She's a bright middle schooler, she loves to sing, but other than that I'm not sure what a good gift would be.

Think, "What would I give her as a Christmas or birthday gift?"

If she loves to sing, you could spring for a home karaoke machine.

Other ideas could even be an iTunes gift card, or CDs that you know she loves.

Since you have a long time until the wedding, start feeling her out for her likes and dislikes.

Does your FI have any ideas since she's his sister? You're new, so check out the first post on this page - it talks about the answer to this question (shop for all WP members like it's their birthday/Christmas) and has other good advice.

My FI isn't much help when it comes to this kind of thing. Mainly for Christmas and Birthdays he picks out an outfit for her. Thinking that probably isn't the best idea for a BM gift I was thinking something more "special". I'm planning on getting my other BM's something similar I'm just not sure if she'll like or use what I get the other girls.

Does she have an ipod? If not you could get her a little shuffle When I was 13 the coolest gift I ever got was a portable CD player that I used until it fell apart in college. But that of course was looong before ipods

See what you can do to hang out with the sister between now and the wedding. At 13, most teenagers show off their likes and dislikes in their bedroom decor. Can you go with that for a few pointers?

I was a long-term sub in a middle school--I know those kids were always talking about music and movies, so I'd go with brookes though of getting her an ipod or something along those lines. She'll probably be pretty easy to figure out if you get her talking about her interests. :-)

If you have no idea on what she likes (specifics that is) I would go the gc route. Even to clothing stores...when I was 13, it was so awesome to shop at Wet Seal. If you shopped there, it really upped your status at school...(wow, that sounds so immature now) but seriously, I felt like a million bucks when I could buy cute/what I thought was sexy clothes.

GCs to best buy, forever 21, american eagle, etc.

Stina and Brooke both made good suggestions. Way back a million years ago when I was 13, I loved getting gift cards to buy my own clothes with, and CDs were the greatest (I, too, got the portable CD player and that thing lasted me ... well, until well after iPods were invented, lol).

One thing, if you go the GC route for clothing, do it at a "cool" store. I used to love getting GCs to Charlotte Russe and Forever 21, because they only had "cool" stuff.

While I was always grateful for getting them to places like Macy's, my mom usually wound up "taking over" and making me get something "boring" with it, like a plain white sweater or some black pants that I'd never wear. She tried to teach me about "closet staples" since I was old enough to understand clothes shopping... when you're 13, you don't give a crap about "closet staples".
