PLEASE HELP, I'm desperate!! Wedding in 2 wks and rehearsal dinner location just cancelled on me!

I am getting married at Le Chateau in South Salem, NY on September 24th, but our guests are all staying at the Hampton Inn and Courtyard Marriott in Danbury, CT. We were supposed to have our rehearsal dinner in one of the meeting spaces in the Hampton Inn on the evening of September 23rd. However, I just learned that their meeting room area flooded yesterday and as such, we can no longer use it for our rehearsal dinner.  I am now stuck with no place to have the dinner and virtually no time to find a new location!  I'm from Boston, too, so I really have no idea what's in the area.

Please please please, if any of you have any ideas of a place to have a casual rehearsal dinner for ~30 people in the Lewisboro/Ridgefield/Danbury area, I'd love to hear them - I am at a total loss for where to turn!!!

    Hey,

I'm so sorry to hear about the flooding!  That area of town always seems to flood...ugh, not something you want to hear right before your wedding though!  I would imagine the Courtyard has conference rooms, but I don't think they have food.  If you have a budget you can PM me and I can try to think of some places.  There's a ton of restaurants in the area that could work....not sure if you were having it at the hotel for budget reasons though.  If so, let me know and I can think of places......

We originally wanted to have the RD at the Courtyard as that is where my fiance and I are staying, but their meeting room was booked many months ago - so unfortunately that's not an option. Our actual wedding went about $10k over budget, so yeah, we were trying to keep things reasonable by having it at the hotel - they gave us the room for free because my fiance stays at Marriotts frequently when he travels for work, and we could provide our own alcohol there. Having it at a restaurant means we will probably have to pay for people's individual drinks, and that's going to kill the budget. Anyway I will PM you you more details.  Thanks!

the little pub in ridgefield has amazing food and beer in a great atmosphere but may not accomodate a lot of people
panchos tacos in danbury is the best casual mexican i've ever had (but kinda cheesey ambiance)
Also check other hotels in the area

Try Chuck's steakhouse in Danbury near the mall.

I HIGHLY suggest Two Steps in Danbury!  We did our rehearsal dinner there AND they also have a catering company that did our wedding reception.  They have a private room that you can use and quite a few different menu options (cocktail dinner, buffet, plated, menu, etc.).  Our guests were also staying at the Marriott Courtyard in Danbury, and it was an easy drive for them.

You want to talk to Tom Devine.  203-794-0032  Definitely call first.  Try emailing him if you can't get a hold of him or tell whoever you speak to your situation.  Better to try and pin things down soon!  www.ciaocateringtwosteps.com

I also highly recommend Franco's in Brookfield.  It's not far from the hotels.  They also have a separate space for private parties.  The food is amazing.  Very good italian fare.  We've also had private parties there.  We also just rented their other restaurant out in New Milford (Tivoli) for a private party, and it was great.  www.francoristorante.com

Alternatively there's also Jim Barbarie's in Danbury.

We're having ours at Mario's Pasta Garden in Brookfield. It is super close to that hotel (about 5-10 minutes), and their handmade pasta is to die for! Their prices are very reasonable too.

I second Chuck's Steak House.  My shower was there and we're using it for our rehearsal dinner too.  Nice menu options, nice space, not too expensive.

    Good luck!

We used Nick's Restaurant in Danbury it was nice italian food and really good price.  Also look into Armando's in Bethel same type of food.  Look into Jim Barbaries (Danbury), Augies (Danbury), and Blu Chip (right next to the courtyard)

    Good Luck!
