wedding in 9 days - which dress?

Ok Raynes and Nebb... I know this is the wrong board to post wedding dress issues but this is the only forum I contribute to.

I bought the first dress because I was pressured by family. It's destination weddingy. However, I was concerned that the empire waist would make me look pregnant. So.. I worked my butt off!

Now, I have the body I kind of like and I want to show it off. Only the ceremony is on the beach so I think it's ok that it's blingy.

We may be married workout crazies, but we still (sometimes) like weddingy stuff.

I think the first dress looks WAY better on you than the second. The shiny-ness of the second one, IMO, makes you look PG. The empire wasted fun one just makes you look gorgeous.

So yeah. Put the Visa card down and stick with your dress!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first one. And even though it is empire waisted, you still look so thin, even thinner than the second one. The second one looks great as well, but its just *too much* for a beach wedding.

Im obviously in the minority here, I am just attracted to shiny things which is why I think I like the dress with the beaded detail and more form fitting figure. Both are beautiful though.

I still don't know the style names (sooo not girly! working on it!) but the second dress is stunning. You look beautiful!! The first one is a definite "no" IMHO...not just for you, but for anyone!

I vote for the 2nd one because that's my dress too! LOVE IT! They both look amazing, but the 2nd one definitely shows off your body wonderfully.

P.S. Sorry to take away from your post, but do you have any info about the 2nd dress (like maybe just who the designer is)? I bought it as a sample w/the tags cut out and I've been searching the internet for almost a year trying to find pictures and this is the first time I've seen it!

Wow... thanks guys. Interesting to hear the feedback from all of you.

The first one is maggie sottero rd1044 and yes... it will be for sale after the wedding. (@cdream). It was a size 12 but altered to a size 8-10 due to all my hard work. My measurements changed from 40-32-44 to 35-30-40. All in 3 months... and a rediculous amount of hard work and discipline.

The second one is being sold on a craigslist type of service here in Ottawa. She doesn't know the designer either! (@courtzf) (@raynes... what does PG mean?) pretty good? pregnant? pudgy? Can you believe I just found out what a siggy means. (sigh) I have to say that this dress is more "me". I'm more of a glam girl but it's a size 8. I've lost 5 lbs since that "photoshoot" so maybe it'll look better.

Anyways, wow... I wasn't expecting so many in favour of the first dress. That's interesting to me. Soooo.... I've asked my parents to bring it over so I can try it on again. In fact, I should sign off so I can shop for spanx.

I'm from Ottawa too.

I looked at the pics again, and it's only in one pic (the side angle one) that I found the 2nd dress less flattering. It actually looks great head on and from the back, so I'm sure that's just not the best pic.

I still prefer the first but I officially say you'll look great no matter what (not that my opinion matters - you have to feel awesome!). Good work!

I just tried on the beachy dress again and I've decided that I'm going to get the used wedding dress instead. I call it my oscar gown.

I think that photos are deceiving. I've had a few photoshoots with both dresses and there are some unflattering shots in both styles. Specifically, the 3/4 body angle shots! Anyways, since I've lost so much weight, the corset back is already at it's tightest and I'm not getting the hip hugging curves that I want on the beachy dress.

I can't believe I'm buying another dress! This is crazy. I'll let you know how it goes.

I think the empire waist with the one strap looks better on you in these pictures, but either one is pretty. Go with the one that you feel best in!
