Snarky Brides

Morning!

How are you all doing today?  How were your weekends?  Anyone do anything fun?

I'm so sore this morning.  We went bowling Saturday night and went to the corn maze yesterday.  I don't want to move.  We had a great time, though.  I also worked all weekend :(  At least today doesn't feel like a Monday.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Re: Morning!

  • Happy Monday, ladies!  We had a good weekend, until my daughter called me a f-ing bitch and stomped out yesterday.  WTF were we thinking, reproducing ourselves like that?  Teenagers are all ungrateful jerks.  I can't wait for that empty nest.  Bring it on.

Not many TorT-ers last night, even though the weather was nice.  There were a lot of community and church activities all weekend, so I think most people went to those and skipped the TorT.  Oh, well, I bought candy we like, so the leftovers are good.

  • Ugh!  Sorry about your daughter, Les.  Teenagers...

We didn't buy any candy.  It snowed here yesterday so we only had one TorT-er.  We hid when she knocked on the door.

  • My mom would have slapped me silly if I called her that.

We didn't get any kids last night, but we didn't expect to either. Our house is too far back from the main street on a dark road. But H took the day off and it was great to spend some time with him. Pretty much all we did was lie on the couch and watch TV. We needed some 'us' time.
  • Thanks, B.  She'll get over it - I let her know in no uncertain terms that calling me something like that is not going to be tolerated.  Teenagers can switch from awesome to awful in .01 seconds flat.  Most of the time she's awesome.

  • My mom slapped me across the face once for calling her a slave driver.  I can't even imagine what she would have done if I had called her an f-ing bitch.

  • Yeah, it was unlike her to actually say that out loud.  To me, anyway - she's usually much more respectful.  'Us time' sounds good, Sesh.  We had a little of that yesterday too, and it was nice.

There was a cute little boy, about 3-4 years old, who came to the door in his costume.  I had a variety of candy, and asked him if he likes KitKat.  He said 'No', closed his bag, and walked away!  His brother told him to go back, that I had other options.  I cracked up.

  • Good morning!

I hate that it's Monday. I think weekends should be three days.

  • Happy Monday!
I'm not dreading this week so much :)  I have so much going on at work and at home that Friday will be here before I know it.

We had an awesome weekend.  Saturday we spent the morning debating over seeing Saw VII or PA2, so we saw both.  I think that's the first time I've ever walked out of one movie and went straight back to buy tickets for another.  Both movies were great, I'm glad we decided on both.

Yesterday my Mom called to tell me that the Dollar Tree had the rocks that I need for my centerpieces for $1/1lb bag.  We went and bought a bunch of them.  The best deal I could find online would have been about $70 with shipping, and I got them all for $30. I think we're getting close to being able to stop with wedding stuff and just enjoy the holidays...we can get back on the wedding train after the 1st.

  • Morning!  i have a short week, after a long weekend, so no complaints here.  I have trainings to lead all day... we're switching to Gmail and GCal for the department, so I'm sure we'll have lots of confused coworkers. (That's what happens when you stay at the same damn job for 40+ years. You can't handle change.)

In other news. This time next week, I'll have a new last name!

  • Morning!

I had a bit of a hangover yesterday, so I took an epic nap.  It was wonderful.  We both had very lazy do nothing days, which was very needed.  I think we had about 60 TorT'ers, so there's a bit of leftover candy.

They did work on the main power in my office on the weekend and for some reason the generator that powers the server room didn't kick in.  So, now one of our servers won't come back up.  It just happens to be the server that I need to, you know, do my job, sooooo, I'm hanging out catching up on my blog reader.

Ha, good for you. I admit, I'm always afraid to open to door to people I don't know so it's a good thing kids don't come looking for candy. Luckily it doesn't happen often. But the last time it was a teenage kid selling magazines and when I told him I wasn't interested he started going off about how cheap I was and 'thanks a lot for ruining our trip.'

Then H came to the door and let him have it, and told him he better go running back to his mommy before he got his ass kicked. Turns out it was a neighbor's grandson but they took our side and made him come back and apologize.
  • Morning. Typical Monday. Woke up an hour past the alarm; had 20 minutes to be in the car leaving; it was 25. Then, I flooded the car, trying to get the display to show properly, adding another 5 minutes. Sigh.

They do Beggars' Night here; so the T/T came on Saturday from 6-8. I was resting at 6 when the doorbell rang the first time (they rang it twice and knocked twice, even though the front porch light was out), but that's all I heard. J and I went out for dinner around 6:45 with his sister, then picked Max up from day camp.

Watched The Walking Dead last night, and I tried to enter the contest to win a walk on role, but the site crashed, and it had closed at 6am this morning.

See the neuro at 4 today.

  • Good morning!!! I am so exhausted today. Saturday morning I had my hair and makeup trial. Overall, I liked my hair. There are a couple things I want to change for the wedding day. I am thinking about doing my own makeup though. I just wasn't impressed with the eye makeup, and even FI said immediately "I don't like your eye makeup".. so yea. Anyways, bridal shower was that afternoon- so fun. Yesterday I helped FI move out of his apartment, pretty much all day. We went to a friend's house last night to watch a movie and pass out candy. I was ready to pass out at 8:30. haha

jcb- that is INSANE. What is wrong with people?
  • Morning.  I had a really crappy weekend at work.  But I'm off for almost two weeks now, so there's that.  I'm going to see my best friend today, and tomorrow I'm having lunch with a former coworker I don't see very often.  So I'm pretty excited about that!  I just hope work is able to leave me alone and let me have my mental health days.

I'm rearranging furniture today.  Gotta make room for the tree to be perfectly showcased.  I have a feeling that I'll be moving a lot of furniture today.

I also need to wrangle up some Christmas music (I need a little mood music), put some scented candles on the warmer, putt out all the decor and dust it and hopefully still have time for the first batch of holiday cookies.

  • Happy November!

I usually only look forward to November because my birthday is in December. LOL!! This is a P&R but I had to say good morning and comment to Les.

Don't you just LOVE teenagers!?! Ugh! I think because of the weather change, they have begun to lose their minds. A gf and I were talking about teenagers yesterday. They can be the WORST! Hopefully you and yours can get back on the right track. And just for the record, I would be in JAIL if my child said that to me. And I would be DEAD if I would have said that to my mom. Oh boy!

Well have a great day. This is the first Monday that I have looked forward to in a looong time. It's day one of MY WEDDING WEEK!!!

Did anyone who did give out candy notice an abundance of teenagers this year? We had far too many out this year. We took out DD, so obviously, we weren't giving out candy. No lights on at all, not even in the front two rooms of the house, but this one group of kids was relentless! Ringing the doorbell numerous times, knocking on the door. Ringing the doorbell again before I've even had time to get to the door doesn't make me get there any quicker... it just makes me hide the good candy from you.

Even as we were putting dd in her wagon to take her around, they were bombarding us in the driveway for candy!

Favorite costumes seen last night anyone?
