In Response to Re: Anyone around? : Yeah, it's a very common runner ailment. <strong>Ultra-marathoners have even gone so far as to have their toenials removed permanently. </strong>They don't hurt, even the black toenails. The one on my left foot had a tiny little nail growing back in underneath it (which I painted, lol), but the one on my right foot just has a very thin, sad excuse of nail now. Neither hurt when they popped off, though, thank goodness.

I've never heard of that, but it kind of creeps me out. I didn't know that could be done.

Hi ladies! I'm exhausted from work, so I'm just laying in bed, relaxing. I need to clean bathrooms but a nap sounds better. I don't see FI much during the week, so I like to be able to stay up pretty late with him on Friday nights and that is not going to happen in my current condition.
Koda- Mery's posting style has an animation in my head. I picture her in a Harry Potter cape (I have no idea why), coming into a room, stating her opinion very loudly, and turning on her heel with her cape spinning with her and then leaving. It makes me laugh

• Hike- That is a funny image. And I do agree she keeps things interesting/entertaining.

I don't know if I could ever be a runner if it meant losing toenails. I have a weird urge right now to press down on each of my nails after hearing about it.
• Oh, yay, Dodgers! That's exciting!

Speaking of weddings, Kodalove, we'll be married for five months pretty soon. JFC that went fast. And boo, Seychelles are usually great.

Mehg, well at least they don't hurt.  I split a nail not too long ago and it was a little painful. Once I ripped it off, it was okay, but I didn't realize I split it, so it was snagging and rubbing in my shoes.
• Mehg, I guess but it's so weird because I've never seen Harry Potter so I have NO idea why that image pops into my head.

• Random but I just saw that one of my fb friends just posted a picture of cookie dough flavored vodka. I had no idea that existed, would that be any good? What would you mix that with?

Ice, duh. Haha, but seriously, the only thing I think it would be kinda good in is milk. Like, white Russian style.

And I'm cracking up over Merry Potter.

Milk would probably be the best option, I didn't think of that. I mix a lot of flavored vodkas with sprite or juice but neither would work for cookie dough. Regardless, I probably just wouldn't buy it because I'm not a cookie dough person.

• Has anyone heard about the bomb threats at Pitt? Since Feburary, there have been over 100. They are either written on bathroom walls or e-mailed to reports around town. Students are taken out of their dorms at like 3 or 4 in the morning night after night.

• I had an awesome experience with blue raspberry vodka in college in which I vomited all over the floor at a frat party. They really appreciated that, let me tell you.

That actually sounds delicous and I want to try it. I'll try not to overdo it. I'm such a lightweight these days, I have 2 glasses of wine and wake up with a headache.
Evening ladies. I've been watching the Deadliest Catch marathon on Discovery Channel for the past, oh, 7 hours or so. I've been cleaning the house on commercial breaks, though. Not sure what I want for dinner yet. Possibly TMI: So, my half marathon was just under two months ago, and I lost a toenail on the second toe on my right foot about 3 weeks ago due to a severe blister I got on that toe. I also had a black toenail on the second to last toe on my right foot, and finally lost the nail on that toe this afternoon. I hate my feet right now.
Posted by mehgank
<div>Dude that sucksss. I've ran for years and never lost a toe nail. Sometimes I think I'm the only one, honestly. I'm not sure if it's because I wear my shoes slightly bigger or because I cut the nails wicked short. </div><div>
</div><div>Do you ever paint the part where is should be with polish?</div>
• Cookie dough vodka sounds icky.
• Megbo - I tried to paint in the missing parts but it just flakes right off. It's probably too hot here to pull that off.

Dude - I know exactly what you're talking about with the alcoholic root beer floats. It's all that sugar. I had two one night (just two!) and woke up with a wicked hangover that stuck around until 6pm the next day. Delicious, but painful.

• Aw man, am I missing a discussion about boozy root beer floats and black toenails?

I've only ever had one black toenail but it hurt like a motherfucker. I thought I was never going to be able to run again.
• Alcoholic milkshakes are AWESOME.  There's a place around here that had one that was some kind of ice cream, some kind of liquor, and chocolate covered espresso beans.

I have nothing else to contribute.

Wanna hear a funny? Apparently a local news station this morning, during their morning news right as they were turning to the weather person, it switched to gay porn for THREE whole minutes. Twitter was going NUTS over it today. We were talking about it at our luncheon at work and everyone was making up puns and one person goes "did anyone else see Neil and Bob this morning on #chchnews". I laughed hearing it, and then I got it and I was laughing so hard I was crying. I dont think ive ever seen everyone at work laughing so hard in my entire life. It was amazing.
• Holy shiit Nebb! Someone is going to be fired. How does that even happen?

That news thing just made my night Nebb. We watch the local news a lot and while it is often pretty ridiculous, but it has never been that bad.

I'm in a pretty darn good mood tonight. I got a raise today (really a yearly cost of living increase but whatever), my wedding invitations came in, I picked the perfect chocolate for favors,  and FH found out that the sale of his mother's house will be final a week from today.

I am celebrating with Greek takeout and cherry vodka with Sprite Zero. If I can stay awake for more than an hour my posts may take a turn for the worse, you have been forewarned.

Dot - What invitations did you get? Were they from Wedding Paper Divas? I really liked all their samples but fell in love with a small company that specializes in bike stuff.

Considering our local news network is WOOD, I kind of wish that would happen around here.

a raise is a raise celtic! congrats!!!
• Thanks! I got a promotion and a sizeable raise a year ago so I am content with CoL for now. I also had some glowing feedback from my supervisors. I really like the people I work with which is what keeps me there. FH wants to move away in about 18 months but I hope he changes his mind.

It looks cute but I usually avoid movies with animals like that. I can't handle it if anything bad happens to them. Heck, I started tearing up during all the War Horse previews and nothing bad even happened to the horse (that I know of). I can watch the most bloody, violent movies when people are concerned but the smallest misfortune that befalls an animal will have me bawling.
