So lately (for about the past 2 weeks) I've had this weird feeling in my throat. It feels like I have a pill or something stuck in there or as though something is choking me. It doesn't hurt, its just uncomfortable. Ever had anything like this?
YES! Only usually not for that long. It usually ends up being the prequel to a sore throat or (grossness coming up) a hardened piece of phlegm that gets kind of stuck. But mine only usually last a day or so, so maybe it's not the same thing.
I've had that happen to me before, and it actually was something (food) stuck in my oral cavity. I'm not diagnosing you, but it is very possible to get small pieces of food stuck there for a short amount of time.
EDIT: Mrs.Jesse is right, it could also be swollen lymph nodes, which traditionally mean that your body is fighting an infection.

Thanks! I hope I do too. It's definitely not food/ something stuck in there...I have a problem with that, and its different.
It kind of reminds me of this time I was taking some stupid diet pill and every time after I'd take it my throat (down lower, near my chest) would feel full or like the pill was logged deep in there..
Sounds like it could be reflux. When I'm having a bad episode, I feel like there's a "lump" in my throat. In any case, it's probably worth a trip to the doctor.
I experience something similar sounding, but I call it my "drowning feeling." Like there's something in the back of my throat that's moving the way water or some other liquid would. It started during the winter. It really is a strange sensation
Teresa- for a second I thought you were serious and it was really a symptom. Yesterday Sucrets responded to my post about my skin acting up by saying that was her first pg symptom....are you girls trying to tell me something? but yes, I'm very baby crazy and currently quite pg paranoid.

Haha, it happens to be true, but I only said it since I know how baby crazy you are. ;)

Roxy- I would go to the Dr. If it were an infection I think it would of progressed or lessened in a 2 week time period. So, I'm thinking more of a mechanical issue (epiglottis not properly working, LES not closing fully etc) Or like PP mentioned your thyroid. Besides if somehow it was a piece of food sitting there stuck and you didn't go, that's a major risk for infection or aspiration risk. Goodluck!
My daughter gets this and self diagnosed herself with this disgusting thing called "tonsil stones". Google it. It is pretty gross...and she presses a toothbrush against them and they pop out.

Is your voice quality affected? Does it feel strained?
That "something stuck in the throat" feeling can sometimes indicate some kind of vocal fold lesion. Acid reflux can also cause that sensation. A visit to the ENT to have it checked out would be wise.

oh fuuuck. I did the same thing. Not a good feeling at all.
So sorry everyone!! I should have made more of a warning. I read it once and got dizzy and nauseous. I won't even let her show them to me when she gets one. And I am a pretty gross person.

But I'll join the pg paranoid club, if there's available membership.
