Honeymoon Registry Opinions?

Hi all - what are your thoughts on a honeymoon registry?  My fiance and I live together and already have a lot of the things that would be on a typical honeymoon registry.  I think they're a great idea.  It seems like a lot of people are against them on the etiquette board - what are your thoughts here?

    My opinion is to ignore the etiquette board, they will rip you to shreds because they have no lives and that's all they do. As far as doing a honeymoon registry, I think FI and I are also going to do that. They've become very popular recently, although I would suggest still having a traditional registry for your more old fashioned gifts. We will probably use Honeyfund =)

    I personally don't like them. A lot of the sites I've read about keep a percentage of the gift and the person buying you the gift might think they're buying you a swim with the dolphins excursion but what you're really getting is a check for part of the amount.

    I've never heard of one. We'll probably just register to upgrade some of our appliances.

    This was an old post, but I'm going to make an account on Honeyfund so I was seeing if there were any old posts about it. The only way you get charged is if someone pays with a credit card to your paypal account. Has anyone else looked into this?
