Giant Blond Moment

okay, so I forgot to order the sparklers earlier this week for our sparkler exit. Oops.  And, because they are flammable, they cannot ship overnight.  Sparklers are specifically permitted by NC law, but I haven't been able to locate any local vendors--all that's popped up so far in my searching is Fort Mill and Myrtle Beach, in addition to the online folks.

Everyone else is online and I couldn't find any SC retailers that shipped, since I figured they could ground ship overnight.  Also checked out craigslist, since I'd seen them for sale there previously--and foolishly didn't purchase them then!

Any suggestions?  I'd still love to do this exit since it photographs so beautifully. Thanks much.  Barbara (back to the dreaded seating chart!!!)

This could be a very dumb question, but does Party City carry something like this?

Edit : they dont. They just have sparkler candles Lol. I'll peek around and see if I can find something. How many are you looking for?

I don't know that I've seen them around this time of year.  Did you call the SC retailers? They may be willing to ship specifically for you if you explain the situation.

    Or, roadtrip?

Thanks for checking around. Great idea to call the folks.  And the wedding's Saturday; folks start to arrive today.  I think I'm might just have to set this free instead of undertaiking a roadtrip.

Road Trip!!!! How close to SC are you? We're about two hours away from 'South of the Border" http://www.thesouthoftheborder.com/shopping/

Give them a call and see if they ship.

How many people do you have? How many do you need?

I have a lot left over from my wedding, but I'm not sure how many. I can call my mom and get her to count them.

If you do want them, I'll drop them off with Wendy at TSC  tomorrow or something.

Oh yes, I'm almost positive we have at least 48. They are the 20" sparklers from http://www.sayanythingceramics.com/sparklers.php?act=show_image&htm_file=sparklers_20.htm and they will last about 2 minutes.  These are the ones Wendy told us to buy, she hates the 36" ones because they last too long and then guests don't know what to do with them, lol.

They worked great for our departure through the portico at TSC.

What's your email? I'll email you later this afternoon with the count and rest of the details.

okay, the saga continues.  I was not such a blonde.  I did order them Tuesday, thinking that they would ship immediately and arrive by Friday, since they say they ship in three days.  Well, they just emailed me the UPS tracking number tonight, which is why I thought I hadn't order them.  So, in the interest of paying forward Meredith's kindness, I have 48 sparklers available.  Just let me know if you're interested.  Kelsey, as another TSC bride, I'd say you have first dibs.  Barbara

PS--I am looking forward to regaining full use of my faculties next week!!

I would put them all out, just in case there aren't enough for people. Then you can give whatever you have left to another bride after you know you didn't use them.  Just in case... We ordered 4 boxes of 72, and had only 65 left over. We probably had about 100 people still there when we did the exit, so everyone got ~2?

I'd love to have the extra sparklers that you have left over! I can't believe the wedding's TOMORROW! Congrats Barbara!

The Knot to the rescue! And everything's coming full circle since I was in Mere's wedding and she's in mine! hehe

That is really cool--I'll check with Wendy to see what was left over--I don't think we used everything that Meredith brought. Plus the ones I ordered hadn't arrived yet.  I'll let you know.  Barbara
