table linen help!

for those that dont know i am have a renaissance themed wedding i am hitting a road block on the head table linens...should i stay will solid colors or do a print? i would like to go with burgudy table cloth and gold runners but i am afraid everything will match too much???the BM"s dresses are gold and burgundy ...i want to do something like this for the head table ....i want the table to be dramatic but should i just stick with with table cloth and diff color runners?

I would stick with white or ivory table cloths and maybe just do a gold or burgundy runner for the head table. I think if your tablecloths ar gold/burgundy, your people might sort of "blend in".

I agree - I think the runner looks really sharp, and it's very renaissance - usually they'd eat off a wood table with just a runner down the middle, never a full table cloth, so it seems appropo to have a runner in bold tones. Maybe mix-and-match? Have 2-3 different color runners on different tables?

I think mixing up the runners so they aren't all the same would also look sharp !
