Snarky Brides

Good Morning!

happy sleepy wednesday!! I got up at 5am this morning to see H off on business yet again. I fully planned to go back to bed but suddenly I am VERY awake. I guess I will get a VERY early start on my studying...

I am trying to decide if I want to stay home and study today or study at school. If I stay home I am literally home ALL DAY. lame :(

I cannot wait until exams are over.

Anyone else awake??

Re: Good Morning!

  • Yes, I remember those study days. Someone mentioned going back to school to me and I nearly threw up. I say go to school and study for a while, getting out of the house is a change of scenery. It also use to help me with the weird loneliness I use to get from studying a lot sometimes. You sound like you might be a little compulsive in studying-I always was because by the time I hit my exams I wants to just be able to spew out the information, not sit there and look puzzled and feel stressed.

For me today, work is one long anxiety attack and it's still colder than bleep with more snow to come BUT I am very, very glad to finally be losing weight so life is not all bad :)
  • Sometimes super early mornings are my favorite!!! I'm glad someone else is up, too :)

I'm doing my routine backwards this morning. I decided to be lazy and drink coffee before getting ready. It was so cold when I got out of bed that I couldn't fathom functioning for at least a half hour!

So, scary story (in my opinion). I have trouble sleeping; I got really sick two years ago...and, I just lost my ability to sleep well/through the night. I've had different muscle relaxers that have helped and tylenol PM...but, my doctor just recently prescribed Ambien. It's amazing. The second I close my eyes, I'm asleep. But, apparently, I'm having issues remembering what I've done after I've taken the pill and before I wake up. My SS had let me know the next night after I had sent her gift that she got it. She sent me a message on FB---I wrote back. I don't remember this AT ALL. And because I didn't remember, I kept searching the boards waiting for her to AW....but, she never did. And, then I started dropping hints on FB's SS page; still nothing. She sent me another message last night (this one I remember)....but, my god. I can't believe I had no recollection of it whatsoever. Scary. I think I need to go back to not sleeping real well just to remember my nights.

  • Morning! I would stay home, because then you could stay in your PJs all day long. And save gas, which holy crap is gettiing high here.

It's so quiet at work, I love it. No one is here yet, so no one is complaining or yelling. So peaceful. TK died for me at home yesterday, so I have a feeling my posts will be restricted to work. For some reason, my home computer thinks it's funny to let me read posts, but not show the reply box.

Also, my truck is doing something weird. When I start it, there is a strange clicking sound in the driver's side door, around the lock. The truck runs fine, just that odd noise. I'm hoping nothing breaks until Saturday, when I can have my stepdad check it out.
  • Hey early morning crew!

Star, I ditto Sesh.  Stay home where it's nice and warm and there are kitties.

I'm sitting here, towel drying my hair before blasting it with the blowdryer.  I have a feeling today will be a long day.  Not necessarily bad, just long because I have a reflection paper due tonight.  It's for the class I hate and I really feel like I haven't learned anything, so it's a good thing I am a good BSer.  I've noticed that 70% of my A's in grad school are due to my writing/BS-ing skills as opposed to actual knowledge.
  • Good Morning, I'm up and avoiding getting ready for work. Today is our company Christmas party so I'm trying to get some stuff ready to take in. Every year we have a dessert contest and I've won the past 4 years. Everyone's been sending me emails that they're taking me down this year so I've had a lot of pressure to come up with something really good. I'm a little disappointed because I don't think I have a winner this year. We're allowed two entries so I made cake balls (for the first time) and another dessert that I mixed a couple of recipes together. I flattened out a roll of crescent rolls, then made a cheesecake filling spread that on the crescents, then put another layer of crescents on top. Then I melted butter and mixed with cinnamon and sugar and poured that on top. It tastes pretty good, but I guess in my head I thought the crescents wouldn't puff up as much...they're pretty fluffy, but they're pretty good. I really hate to lose so hopefully I can pull it off :) For the cake ball makers, are they supposed to be kind of gooey in the middle? Mine aren't super gooey, but gooier than I had expected.

Good Luck with studying Star, I'm sure you'll be glad for exams to be over.

  • Rach, do you take the Ambien just before you go to bed, or a half hour or so before? I do the same thing (not remember stuff), so I've started just taking sleeping stuff while I'm already in bed, so all I'm doing is reading or watching TV. That way I know I won't be doing anything weird.

However, no matter what I take I still wake up in the middle of the night, according to H. What happens then, I have no idea.
  • Good morning! I just got to work, getting ready to brew a fresh pot of coffee. The next three days at work are going to suck, but I'm determined to make them better.

I got a super sweet email from FI this morning. We're only two weeks into this deployment and we miss each other so much! But, it's good to know he's doing well out there.

FI's dad called me around 11pm last night to tell me they landed safely in LA, and I must have been really out of it when I answered, because I said "Good morning!" when I answered the phone. I think it threw him off a little LOL.

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but did it somehow log you out? I never log out, I just close my window so I don't always have to log back in. If you aren't logged in you can't reply or start threads. It happened to me once and took me a couple of days to figure out that I wasn't logged in.

I take it about an hour before I go to bed, wait for it to kick in, then go to bed. I suppose that's my problem---I should take it when I lay down. Or, at the very least, closer to when I lay down. Part of my problem is getting to sleep, so I think I just started taking it when I would take tylenol PM and assumed it'd have the same outcome. But, it's a pretty hard hit when that stuff kicks in.

  • dmiller, today is our Christmas party too! I wanted so bad to get a Chia pet for our white elephant gift exchange, but ran out of time to go hunting around town for it, so I settled on a 12-can cooler that has iPod speakers that I found on the $9.99 rack at Target. LOVE Target!

No, I'm logged in. My home Internet just really sucks. Or my computer does, one or the other. Like, I can rarely click on a link and have it open in a new window (usually I get that irritating error message). On TK, I can make a post then 10 seconds later, the reply box is gone and it won't come back for an hour or so.
  • lenore- yea I am totally that scary studier just spewing out info at this point. I tried to just get up and get ready and its too cold out. I am lame and want to stay here where its nice and warm......

Rach- that is TOTALLY scary! I think sesh's idea sounds good- already be in bed when you take it. I've never taken ambien but I've had to take tylenol pm before..

That sounds like a pretty awesome gift, I might have to go check out Target :) I wish we did a white elephant, that would be so much fun. Our managers go to wal-mart and just buy a bunch of random gifts, then raffle them off. I think they buy enough gifts so that 1 in 3 people will win something. I never win a gift :(

  • Good morning.  I discovered that my H has taken to setting our heater on 60 degrees while we sleep.  I could kill him.  This is kind gross, but it's so dry and cold I wake up to my fingers bleeding the second I touch something.  I'm going to punch him in the face if he does it again.

Our dogs have also gone insane.  Our shepherd all of a sudden thinks it's okay to jump on the bed and the great dane thinks it's okay to get on the couch.  I don't know if the cold weather is bringing out the crazy or what, but every member of my family better get their act back together or no Christmas for them.

I'm cranky, don't I hide it so very well? ;-)

  • Shay, I think it's the weather. The pets don't know what to do with this insane cold. Whisky spent the night racing from room to room, playing under the bed, and desperately trying to reach this dangly bracelet I have hanging from the dresser mirror.
  • edited December 2010
I certainly hope so, Sesh!  It got down to 18 last night, I couldn't believe it.  The racing from room to room would drive me batty!  Our great dane doesn't like to just lay down all night, she will get up and walk around it - it drives me up the wall.  But since she's been getting on the couch at night we've had to keep her in our bedroom with the door shut so she doesn't ruin it and she just walks around all night long.  Gah!

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Morning. I'm here for a minute today. Have a lot on the agenda and I'm currently freaking out because T can't find his SS card. (we are supposed to be getting our marriage license today) I asked him 3 weeks ago if he had it, and he said it was in his wallet. I guess he decided he'd better actually see if its there today, and its not. So, not sure what we will do if he doesn't find it. I just want to cry.

Hope you all have a good day.
  • Morning!

One of the girls on my club board has many funny Ambien stories.  She sometimes blogs after she's taken it.  Those ones are usually really funny.

Yesterday was a better day than Monday, which means today will be even better, I've decided.  I get a lunch out with my group to celebrate Christmas and then I'm going to work on my Christmas cards and knit when I get home.  M&Ms SS gift inspired me to knit a bolero.

    Humpity hump day!

The dog and the cat both have fleas, so I'm flea bombing the house this weekend. I called to see how much it would be to board the cat and dog and get them treated for fleas while they are at the vet's office. $59 for everything. I fucking love our vet.

ETA: I'm not being sarcastic, I really do love our vet. It's so much cheaper than other boarding places in town and the vet is ridiculously knowledgeable.
  • Good luck, stacey! I'd be turning my house upside turn looking for that card. I'll send you good hunting vibes.
  • I usually study at school or a coffee shop else I get distracted and watch tv all day!

    Happy Wednesday :)

  • Thanks Sesh- he just called. Found it. We are totally going to have to do something about his organizational skills. He said it was in a box, with his old driver's licenses. I bought a fire/water proof safe, so guess whats going in there when we get back later? :)
  • Good morning, ladies!
It's supposed to snow (finally) 3-7 inches tonight and tomorrow, which might put a damper on our office Christmas party tonight.  It's really just a happy hour, but it was fun last year.

That's scary, Rach - I've heard stories of people driving on Ambien.  At least you're staying home.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Rach, it kicks in pretty quickly, and you don't feel "drowsy" like you do with PMs. I've taken it downstairs, been up for another 30 minutes, and John's had to help me up the stairs so I didn't miss one. But it's good, sound sleep.

  • Morning ladies.

CS- hope you feel better soon :: runs by with Lysol::

Rach- that is scary. I totally agree with Sesh. Take it while in bed. I'd be afraid you'd really get hurt.

Well I finally got the tree up and once again decorated it myself. And then I proceeded to get all the cards done, now I just have to mail them. I have to go to the store tonight we are out of everything, but I need to get the ingredients to start my baking. I have a hair appt. Saturday and I give the girls cookies. We also are having our office Christmas party Tuesday. So much to do,so little time.

  • Yeah, Rach, I'd have to lock myself in the house and make sure I went nowhere near my phone or computer if I were on Ambien. That sounds nutso!

  • Rach, that's really normal (actually, typically people do much weirder things, like cook entire meals and not remember).  Not that this is medical advice, but you should try taking it more like about 15 minutes before you go to bed.  I take my sleep meds, then get ready for bed, and then get right in bed.  It takes me about 10-15 minutes to get ready for bed and that's about the perfect amount of time.

Today is...well, Wednesday.  We're supposed to get 6 more inches of snow.  Sigh.  It's going to be one of those winters, I think.
