What a mess. Myself, fiancé and brother went to pick out the male wedding attire and it was just awful. We had no problem being “helped”, but they are so beyond pushy that I walked out more than 2x’s. First, they will push you into adding more people to your wedding party because more people = more suits = more money. Annoying.
Second, they only really showed us two suits. The Vera Wang and the Calvin Klein. I suppose I could have asked to see more or a catalog of some sort, but fiancé was already sold on the Calvin Klein.
Third, I told them they would come back to get measured. The salesperson was okay with this, but then some woman out of nowhere with a measuring tape started measuring. We went after work. We were all starving. Seriously? Then the person with the tape measure walks away and our original consultant starts measuring. She obviously jumped in because there was no way we were going to leave without putting down a couple deposits. Annoying.
Fourth, they kept on insisting we go with ivory over the white because my dress is ivory. I declined. I now have no idea if I made the right choice. My reasoning was that the white shirts will never directly touch my dress, so I don’t think there will be an issue. The ivory looked pretty creamy. I am still up in the air about this. I never knew having a black and white wedding with an ivory dress would push me over the edge the way that it has. Annoyed with myself.
Fifth, the totals per suit changed when we finally got to the registers 2 hours later. Yes, 2 hours later. The price jumped $40 because we would be picking up in Vegas and taxes and all of this BS. Not pleased. Threatened to truly walk out and come back another day when suddenly the price dropped to $169 just $10 more than originally quoted. Not particularly happy, but fiancé was happy and we decided that it was an okay price for Calvin Klein. I still think its too much. Ehhhh… Annoyed.
So ya, suit shopping is time consuming and extremely frustrating. I had a bad feeling from the beginning because of a past experience I had with them. Let's just hope they dont screw things up.
