Wedding Woes

seriously? please don't breed.

From my freecycle:

Hello all.I posted about two weeks ago that I was in deperate need of baby items because I had nothing.Well, now I am in need even more!!!I found out three days ago I'm having twins!!!

Here is a list of what I need. The first part of this list I only need one of each:Infant pumkin seat, high chair bedding set, formula pitcher, double stroller for infant twins, baby monitor, wipes warmer, car seat cover.

This second part of the list I need two of each:diaper bags, pack n play with bassinet peice, clothes for girl and boy(premie and newborn to start),boppy pillows, bottle props, cribs with mattresses, gooming sets, bouncy seats, swings, baby carriers(back pack carrier, sling, mobly wrap).

The fallowing things are things are things that I need as much as humanly possible to get:bottles, formula, wipes,
diapers,burp rags,blankets,socks,hats,baby wash,baby lotion,baby towls,bottled water(gerber or store brand).

I know this is a lot to ask for,but I am unable to work because I am high risk, and I gave every thing we had from our other children away because we were done having children.Boy were we wrong.Any thing helps.

Paragraphs added for your reading pleasure. That was just one big block of text.

Really?  I gave this chick my breast pump, because I was done with it and couldn't really sell it or anything. It's 6 years old, was used heavily for 2 of those years, and then for a couple of months for each of my kids.

And now this? I don't know how she knows at this point that she is going to have to deliver at 36w.

I also want to scream at her that bottle propping is dangerous and that bottled water is worse for your kid than tap water. Never mind that you don't *need* half of that stuff.

Good lord.  Grr.  It's days like these when I wonder why I'm even still on the stupid list.

DG... are you suggesting a wipe warmer isn't an absolute necessity?! HOW DO YOU THINK THEY DID IT BACK IN THE STONE AGES?!

I'm stuck on needing 2 diaper bags for 2 kids.  She probably figured she's having twins by peeing on 2 sticks.

If she can't afford ANYTHING for this child shouldn't the state be helping?

Or couldn't she adopt out the children, to give them the best chance?

<raises eyebrow /> Well, maybe. By taking the kids away and giving them to someone else.

The two diaper bag thing bugs me too.  Everyone I know with twins just uses one.  Why does she need one swing, let alone 2?  She needs to work on the difference between need vs. want.

I don't have kids, but the wipes warmer gets raised eyebrows from me.  i guess they didn't exist when I was babysitting, but if she has nothing, that seems a bit off to me.  Agree with PPs, needs to figure needs vs wants.

whe she said she gave her crap away...unless she dropped it athe back door to goodwill, wouldn't she have friends giving her stuff BACK?

I mean, isn't that how it works?  You pass on stuff, stuff gets passed back?

(I get pissy here.  I did some thrift-store-shopping for clothes and 'bleachable' items before Buffy arrived...I'll do more when she outgrows what we have.  And the diaper bags that get dropped off at daycare are the free ones from enfamil/similac/gerber/whatever...because, really, a bag is a bag is a bag.  need=/= want.)
