BF & I have joined the crew of couples 'living in sin'! LoL We moved into our new apartment together this weekend. I wanted to wait until the move was over to actually say anything because I didn't want to jinx it but everything went smoothly... with the exception of the cracks in my brand new marble dining table!! Oh, and the fact that the cable company only installed 1 cable box instead of 2... but it could be much, much worse... Nothing lost, nothing else broken...
I absolutely LOVE our apartment... it's a completely renovated 1 bedroom in a private house... my kitchen is awesome, the bathroom is beautiful and the best part is I can take the train to work and save the money, time and aggravation of driving into the city... YAY
Here's some pics of the place before we moved in...
My kitchen!! I have to get one of those refrigerator magnets that says "Liza's Kitchen" lol too bad Liza is not a common enough name to find one in the store...
My pretty bathroom with the pedestal sink
Decent sized bedroom...
This is the Living/Dining Room... This half of the room has a dining room set... The other half has a couch, reclining glider and 46 inch Tv

Congrats hun! I was just about to ask where you've been.
What a beautiful place! Congratulations on the move in and let us know how the transition into 'shacking up' couple goes :) I love living with BF. PS For the refrigerator magnet, maybe try Etsy? You can always just get something printed out and buy a magnet at Michael's if you're into DIY.

BF is still traveling back and forth to VA for work so, I'll have to get used to living alone the majority of the time... I was just thinking I should check Etsy lol Thanks!
I was wondering how the move went! BEAUTIFUL apt! I'm drooling over the hardwood floors!
Posted by mana8503
I'm shocked at how smoothly it went... It was probably because we had help and I didn't move much lol I have to get a swiffer for those hardwood floors... I was gonna take my fathers Scooba but you can hear everything in this house so I'm afraid it'll make too much noise on the floor...
Congrats! That apartment is awesome! Those floors are gorgeous! And the kitchen is way nicer than the one in my house, I'm super jealous! Have fun making it "your apartment!" And if you can't find a Liza magnet, make one! I might have to do that for my kitchen fridge now too, heh.

The kitchen and the bathroom are what sold me... The cabinets are brand new! and there's a little space on the other side of the kitchen to put a table for 2 :D

Hi!! I've been lurking (only popping out when I feel like I need to lol)
I cannot wait to move it with FI at the end of this month. Just last night we got back from visiting some family about 2 hours away. We we made it back to his house, I just wanted to stay, but I didn't have any work clothes with me today. And then I would have had to get up super early this morning to make the drive home, and back to his town for work. It's only about a 25 min drive, but round trip in the morning is brutal when I'm not a morning person. It will be nice in the future when we get back from out of town, we can both stay put and not have to finish the rest of the drive to our other home.
Remember "shacking up" is an adjustment. The weirdest things will bother you, just remember what Desert said above!

The weirdest part is going to be living alone 4 days a week and then having him home on the weekends... Hopefully, it'll make the transition easier because we're not gonna be up each others butts 24/7 lol
He's already testing my patience because he's being picky about bedding LOL
After you've determined that you can live together and get along, you will have one less doubt on your wedding day
Married! May 27th, 2012
Life is good today.
I love living with my FI, for the record. It's like a never-ending slumber party
Congrats on living in sin, I must admit, it's pretty sweet most of the time!
Living together is an adjustment. I made it very clear to BF when we moved in together that he needed to let me know if I was doing something that was irritating him. Turns out, leaving a sponge in the sink is a big pet peeve of his. I never had even thought about it before!

I feel the same way... I need to know that I can live with BF before I really decide whether we should spend the rest of our lives together... The funny part is that my mother was coming around to the idea but now that we're living together she's like "So, are you not getting married??" Chill out, mom! lol

I'm trying not to stress out over it... Raymour & Flanigan will be delivering a replacement next Tuesday so, hopefully that one will be crack-free! lol I was worried we weren't going to be able to get a replacement because the set I picked is now discontinued.

Thanks! I was getting so discouraged because we saw some really dumpy places... I was about to call a realtor when I found this place on Craigslist... I stalked the landlord for a few days until he agreed to give it to us lol

The natural light is the best! I can leave the shades open until about 7:30 - 8:00pm and there's no need for lights in any room of the apartment... saves a shit-ton on electricity!
And think of all the nap time/reading time you'll gain by taking the train into the city instead of driving!
