Since we are all under that 18 month (1 1/2 yr) mark how is everyone doing with planning? Need any suggestions?

Currently I am working on trying to make these (boutineers) for the guys.

The hair clips for the girls will be different. I have the pieces to make them, but am at a loss.

I am also working on an etching project for our sand ceremony but I cannot find a picture on hobby lobby's website of the item I am using for it.

I'm still taking it slow on the planning. Went with my mom and sis a couple weeks ago to try on dresses and REALLY loved one of them. Could be THE one but I'm going to wait a couple more months and get my butt in gear to work out before really committing.

I'm really obsessed wtih saving and budget right now. FI has been laid off for a few months, however we still have been doing pretty good. We made some changes when he was laid off last year and have, for the most part, stuck to them, working or not. But I find myself googling for hours "cheap wedding this" and "how to save that". It's in my nature to be savvy too so I'm not shocked! Lol

Hello Stina. I love ur boutineres (hope i spelled correct). I am just in the beginning of our planning. We are going to go look at some venues over the next few days. I'm really excited. Fiancee said he didnt want to help at 1st but now i think he's more excited than i am. :-D He's not working (waiting for disability) so we are taking it slow, but the ideas are flowing!

A lot of my stuff was from craigslist and/or the classifieds section on here. I am very money savy with regards to this stuff and I also know Ill try and sell as much as I can afterward. I also watch clearnance sections at hobby stores.

I bought my flowers through afloral.com last fall/winter when gerbers weren't in season per se and got them really cheap.

I haven't planned anything yet. We had decided on a venue about a year ago, but I think we're going to cancel that and go with something else. We still haven't decided if we're pushing the wedding back or not, so who knows. We probably will, and that's why I haven't done much planning since it would be pointless.

Sounds like you've made a lot of progress, Stina. Good job!

Hi everyone, I haven't been on a lot lately, because I am doing my Master's, working full time, and trying to plan a wedding. Sometimes I wonder why I took on all that lol. But I have the venue and photographer. We are working on catering at the moment. After that it is DJ, flowers in October to be able to see the flowers in season in bloom, and then center pieces. I've been thinking a little bit about centerpieces and am really worried we won't be able to do fresh flowers. But we'll see. Also.... I GOT MY DRESS YESTERDAY! I couldn't envision the wedding all put together before, but now with the dress I can! I am so excited!.

Stina, I think those are great! I love peacock colors.You seem so crafty!

I think I have gotten a lot done as far as my vendors go. I have my venue, photographer, dj and photo booth. I also bought my dress last week. I have an idea on flowers and centerpieces but I haven't quite worked those out just yet. For my boutennieres, I think I am going with one single burnt orange calla lilly for the guys. Those flowers will be in my bouquet and the bridesmaids as well. I was thinking about seeing if a florist would be able to give my flower girls fall leaves instead of the standard rose petals to throw as they are going down the aisle. I think this would be cute for a fall wedding on a farm.

I am planning on making our save the dates but I am debating on when to send them out. When is everyone else sending out theirs? They will probably take me a while to get together so I should think about starting on those soon!

I plan on sending out STDs out sometime in October or November. Normally they say 8-6 months prior but I have a lot of family coming from different states so it will give them plenty of time to save to fly here. We have engagement pics in Aug (was supposed to be July 23) but I will be using a picture or two of those on our STDs.

Thanks Stina! I was thinking the same thing about the save the dates. I will probably try to get them in the mail by November because I also have a lot of people coming in from out of town so I want to make sure they have enough time to plan. We just got our engagement photos done a few weeks ago and I am thinking about using them on our save the dates instead of me making them as long as they came out good. We should hopefully be getting them in the next few days.
